Met Gala 2022: Four Celebrity Superstars to Host ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’
The theme and celebrity hosts of the Met Gala 2022 continue to bring star power to the annual red carpet event. The star-studded gala’s theme is “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” Hosts include husband and wife superstars Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Regina King. Consequently, the evening of fashion and dramatic superstar entrances will take place on May 2.
What is the Met Gala?
The party signals the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual blockbuster show. However, it’s best known for an eclectic mix of celebrity and fashion hosts. The event chairwoman is Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer and Global Editorial Director of Vogue Magazine.

Titled “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” the exhibit included pieces from American designers.
Moreover, these heavy-hitters included Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, and Calvin Klein. The 2021 gala was subsequently held in Sept. due to the coronavirus pandemic. It returns to its usual May date this year.
Vogue reported Lively, Reynolds, Miranda, and King will serve as co-chairs of the event: “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.”
This second installation by Andrew Bolton, the Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute, centers on American style. It will reportedly hail the anonymous and unsung heroes of design in America.
Meanwhile, an accompanying exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art will feature 100 examples of men’s and women’s dress. These date from the 19th to the mid-late 20th century, revealing unfinished stories about American fashion.
