Michael Fassbender has quite the dating history. For as long as he’s been in the spotlight, the X-Men actor has been linked to several celebrities before marrying his current love in Alicia Vikander. But who has the star dated in the past? And how many kids, if any, does he share with some of them?

Michael Fassbender was once Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor. One of his rumored flings has been with his own co-star, Zoe Kravitz. US Weekly reported that the two linked up in 2010 while on the set of X-Men First Class. However, the relationship only lasted a year. He’s also tied to supermodel Sunawin Leasi Andrews, Naomi Campbell, and actor Nicole Beharie. For one reason or another, many of his relationships didn’t last long. Fassbender chalked this up to his lifestyle.
“I think the longest relationship that I’ve been in was two years,” he said in an interview with GQ. “I started doing this when I was 17, so I guess in my dating, adult life, that kind of covers it.”
According to ABC11, first reported by the Metro newspaper, Fassbender once credited his newfound celebrity lifestyle as a detriment to long-term relationships.
“You’re in a position where people treat you differently,” Fassbender once said. “There’s more of a buffet of choice. It’s not fair for somebody to be waiting for you.”
But this was all before he met Vikander, with who the actor eventually settled down.

Michael Fassbender has one child, and that’s with his current wife Alicia Vikander. On September 8, 2021, Vikander reported that she and Fassbender welcomed their first child together. Vikander, in particular, showed an interest in exploring motherhood before her pregnancy was announced, foreshadowing her motherhood.
“It’s one of those things that I feel to be the biggest mystery, to one day have a child,” Vikander once said according to E-News. “I always imagine myself to one day have a family.”
It was a mystery that Vikander and Fassbender soon unraveled with the birth of their child. The Ex-Machina star saw it as a life-changing experience.
“I now have a whole new understanding of life in general,” Vikander said to People. “That’s pretty beautiful, and obviously will give a lot to any of my work in the future.”
Why Michael Fassbender doesn’t like talking about Alicia Vikander
Certain celebrities are private about their personal lives for common reasons. Fassbender and Vikander are no exception. In an interview with ET Canada, the actor revealed why he doesn’t indulge in personal talk about his family often.
“I’m not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger, unless I feel like I need. Why would I?” Fassbender said. “I might have been curious about actors’ lives when growing up. That’s human nature. We’re all curious about a lot of things. But my curiosity didn’t obligate them to tell me.”
On a more professional level, Fassbender feels that divulging too much information about his and Vikander’s personal life will distract audiences from his acting.
“It’s the worst thing if you’re sitting there in the theatre going, ‘Oh, that’s the guy who dates this person and likes to do this in the morning and that that in the afternoon,” he said. “Then you’re just watching a brand as opposed to an actor.”
