Michael Patrick King Basically Told Us Carrie Bradshaw Will End up With Aidan Shaw
Season 3 of And Just Like That… will premiere sooner rather than later. While Sex and the City fans are waiting to see what Carrie Bradshaw’s life becomes in season 3, it seems her love life is wrapped up. Despite a cliffhanger ending involving Aidan Shaw, Michael Patrick King made it pretty clear the on-again-off-again duo will likely end up together.
Sarah Jessica Parker teases new men ahead of ‘And Just Like That…’ season 3
Sarah Jessica Parker has wrapped filming on season 3 of And Just Like That…, and now she’s happily talking about what’s to come. According to Variety, Parker was present at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia this week. While there, she happily answered questions about the upcoming season. While Parker hasn’t given away much of the storyline, she promises big things are coming.
The famed actor said fans can expect big stories and the return of plenty of characters. She also quipped that there would be new men on the horizon, suggesting that Carrie would return to the dating scene. We do know three new actors have been added to the series, but it’s unclear what role they’ll play in Carrie’s life. Even if they are love interests, it seems inevitable that Carrie will end up back with Aidan Show.
Michael Patrick King made it obvious that Aidan Shaw is here to stay
While Sarah Jessica Parker has teased “new men” for season 3 of And Just Like That…, it is unlikely that any of them will be Carrie Bradshaw’s next great love. The character’s fate was sealed last season despite a dramatic and lengthy “pause” in her relationship with Aidan Shaw. It is pretty evident that she will end up with the furniture designer in the end. Michael Patrick King basically told us so.
While Aidan will likely start season 3 in Virginia, looking after his troubled son, he will find his way back into Carrie’s life. John Corbett, the actor who plays Aidan, was on set multiple times during the filming of season 3. In several still shots from the set, Carrie and Aidan look plenty cozy. It seems the relationship will be rekindled once again.
There is more evidence that they’ll end up together, though. Michael Patrick King, the series’ famed showrunner, already told us the relationship won’t end in heartache for Aidan. In June 2023, Michael Patrick King chatted with The New York Times about the often divisive reboot and the decision to bring Aidan Shaw back. King said he didn’t bring the character back to have the relationship fail.
It seems clear that Carrie and Aidan will find their way back to each other yet again. Still, we don’t yet know how that will happen or the circumstances of their relationship. For that information, we’ll need to wait for season three of the reboot to premiere. While Max hasn’t given And Just Like That… season 3 an official premiere date, it’s likely to be released early in 2025.
