After trying to make it as a comedian for three years, he made his acting debut in the ABC drama television series China Beach. After a few guest appearances in other shows and movies, including Poetic Justice (1993), he landed considerable roles in Quentin Tarantino’s True Romance (1993) and John Singleton’s Higher Learning (1995).
He continued appearing in various films before getting his first recurring role in the Fox drama series, Boston Public (2001-04) as Danny Hanson. Shortly after, he joined the main cast of the sitcom The War at Home (2005-07), and My Name is Earl (2007-08).
