Disney Channel’sJessie featured a few celebrity cameos. That includes an episode with the Former First Lady, Michelle Obama

In one behind-the-scenes clip of this philanthropist with the cast, fans could see her embrace Cameron Boyce, the actor behind Luke Ross and Carlos in the original movie Descendants. Here’s what we know about these public figures and their adorable moments together.

Michelle Obama guest-starred on ‘Jessie’

Disney Channel’s Jessie told the story of one nanny making it big in New York City, taking care of one wealthy family while the parents were away. There were even a few special guest appearances on this comedy series.

During the season 3 episode titled  “From the White House to Our House,” Jessie and Zuri planned a party for a character named Taylor, whose mum was away serving in the military. The party gets even more special when Obama decided to attend. 

Actors from Jessie met the Former First Lady and even took a picture with her. That includes Boyce, who portrayed the mischievous and adorable Luke Ross, and Debbie Ryan, who portrayed the title character.

In the “For Cameron” memorial, broadcasted after the premiere of Disney Channel’s Descendants 3, there was a behind-the-scenes clip of the Jessie actor with the former First Lady. The video earned over 17 million views on YouTube.

“There is no treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence,” Obama said. The actor looked straight at Obama while reciting one of his lines. She burst out laughing and the two hugged, with Boyce shouting out, “I made her laugh.” 

Following the actor’s death, Obama posted a picture of the two posing for a picture together, sharing her condolences with fans and Boyce’s family.

“I was lucky enough to share a few moments with Cameron Boyce — on set, at the White House, and on a service project — enough time to recognize that not only did he have incredible talent, but also an incredible heart,” Obama tweeted. “Sending love & hugs to his family, friends and his many, many fans.”

Cameron Boyce died prior to the premiere of ‘Descendants 3’

In 2019, this actor suffering a seizure in his sleep caused by epilepsy, according to the Today Show. He was 20 years old and died just a few weeks prior to the premeire of Disney Channel’s original movie, Descendants 3.

There, he acted as the son of Cruella De Vil, the dog-loving high school student named Carlos.

The “From the White House to Our House” episode of Jessie, as well as the Disney Channel original Descendants movies are available for streaming on Disney’s streaming platform.
