Michelle Petty and Logan Brown’s wedding was mentioned in a recent episode of Sister Wives. Still, viewers who are not familiar with the goings-on of the Brown family off-camera wouldn’t have known that. The Browns repeatedly referred to the wedding generically as a “family event.” While Logan, the eldest son of Janelle Brown and Kody Brown, and his wife have opted to keep their life private, the bride has stepped forward to insist they never asked that the series not mention who was getting married. She agrees TLC made the entire situation feel a bit weird.

Michelle Petty insists she and Logan didn’t ban the family from mentioning their names on ‘Sister Wives’

In a recent episode of the series, Kody Brown and his wives discussed the awkwardness surrounding a family event. Despite no footage of the event being shown, it was a major storyline for the episode. Those who follow the family outside of the TV show know the event being referenced was the October 2022 wedding of Logan Brown and Michelle Petty.

After the episode aired, viewers were quick to point out how strange it was for the Brown family to continuously refer to their eldest son’s wedding as a “family event” or a family wedding. Michelle Petty agrees with the assessment of Sister Wives fans. The bride, who wed her longtime beau, Logan, in October 2022, took to social media to insist she and her husband never banned the family from mentioning their names.

A Reddit user shared screenshots of Michelle’s replies to the situation on Twitter. In one reply, the Las Vegas resident told followers that she and Logan never asked for their names to be withheld. In fact, she insists she didn’t know the wedding would be a plot point until moments before the episode aired.

She theorized that TLC opted not to mention their names because they refused to allow cameras into their big day. The couple also did not want pictures from their event used on Sister Wives. While Logan appeared in the series’ early seasons, he has not appeared for many years. Despite dating Logan for years before they tied the knot, Michelle has never appeared on the show.

Logan and Michelle opted not to let TLC into their wedding. They are the first couple to opt for a private ceremony. Since the show began, several Brown family members have married, and TLC has been there for all of them.

Maddie Brush was the first of the Brown siblings to wed. She married Caleb Brush in June 2016. TLC featured their wedding in season 11 of Sister Wives. Mykelti Padron followed several months later when she married Tony Padron after a short courtship. Their nuptials were the focus of several season 12 episodes. Aspyn Thompson and Mitch Thompson tied the knot two years later. Their wedding was featured in season 13.

Since then, a few more Browns have tied the knot. Aside from Logan and Michelle, Leon Brown married Audrey Criss. Gwendolyn Brown has gotten married, and her mother, Christine Brown, wed David Woolley after leaving Kody Brown behind. TLC covered Christine’s 2023 wedding in a multi-part special. It is unclear if Gwendlyn and her wife, Beatrice Queiroz, allowed TLC’s cameras into their big event. Leon and Audrey are notoriously private, so it’s unlikely they opted to share their special day.
