“Big Daddy Sitch” is quite literally in the building. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation stars Mike “The Situation” and Lauren Sorrentino welcomed their baby boy into the world on May 22, 2021. After months of waiting in the dark without any clues, Jersey Shore fans finally know “Baby Situation’s” name.

‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ cast grows by one 

At the end of 2020, the Sorrentinos shared big news with fans in an otherwise dismal year. “We have a Baby Situation,” Mike shared on Instagram the week of Thanksgiving.

His wife echoed the sentiment on her social media channels. “Our biggest blessing is on its way,” Lauren wrote on her Instagram account.

The Sorrentino’s baby announcement featured the happy couple with their dog Moses and a message in flour reading: “Baby Sorrentino May 2021.” In December, the Sorrentinos announced they were expecting a boy. 

The Sorrentinos suffered a miscarriage in 2019 when Lauren was six or seven weeks into her pregnancy. “It was hard,” she admitted on Good Morning America. “I didn’t want to hold this in. I wanted to share it for other people going through it and just be honest so I can kind of heal through the process.”

Mike and Lauren have experienced a lot as a couple. But they’ve shared their ups and downs with fans, many of whom are celebrating today’s joyous occasion with the reality stars.

Mike ‘The Situation’s fans guess the name of ‘Baby Situation’

As soon as May 2021 rolled around, many Jersey Shore fans couldn’t contain their excitement regarding “Baby Situation.” This was especially the case when Lauren shared a photo on her Instagram wearing a necklace with the letter “R.” 

Roman was one of the first names to pop into fan’s minds on Reddit. “It’s totally Roman,” a fan said. “Mike said it means strong. I know I thought it was Leo or something, but Roman is definitely on point for them and a very cute name.” 

Other fans speculated “Baby Situation’s” name could be Ryder, as in Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s friend, Rocky, Rocco, or Romeo. Other name options from fans include Romeo, Reginaldo, Riccione, and Ronald after the baby’s “Uncle Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.” 

Now Baby Sorrentino has finally arrived! And his name is what some fans suspected it would be.

Since announcing Lauren’s scheduled C-section on the Here’s the Sitch podcast, many fans have been counting down the days. The Sorrentinos welcomed “Baby Situation” Romeo Reign Sorrentino, on May 26, 2021.

Romeo was born weighing six pounds, eight ounces and 19 inches long. Jersey Shore fans are elated for the Sorrentinos, who have been waiting so long for this day to come. 

“WE CALLED HIS NAME BEING ROMEO,” one fan said on Reddit. “I have this overwhelming sense of pride for Mike becoming a dad,” wrote another. “Talk about full circle.” Many other fans share that sentiment, while other’s wonder what inspired the Sorrentino’s to name their son Romeo.

Mike and Lauren shared photos from Romeo’s delivery, and fans can’t wait to see more from The Situations as they prepare to bring Romeo home from the hospital.
