‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ fans guessed Romeo Reign Sorrentino’s name
After suffering a miscarriage in 2019, many fans were elated to learn of Lauren’s pregnancy at the end of 2020. Since Mike and Lauren announced the news, fans have been guessing what they could name their son. Naturally, when the couple revealed they wouldn’t share their son’s name until he was born, fan speculation increased.
Later, when Lauren shared a photo on her Instagram wearing a necklace with the letter “R,” fans started guessing the baby’s name would begin with an “R.” Roman was one of the first names to pop into fan’s minds.
“It’s totally Roman,” a fan guessed. “Mike said it means strong. I know I thought it was Leo or something, but Roman is definitely on point for them and a very cute name.” Baby Sorrentino’s actual name was among the guesses, too, but it wasn’t the most popular guess out of fans.
Romeo Reign means ‘Roman Ruler’
Romeo is one of the most famous Shakespearian names, thanks to Romeo and Juliet. According to Nameberry, Romeo translates to mean “pilgrim to Rome” or “Roman.” Ironically, this was the name some fans thought Mike and Lauren were going with when they saw her wearing an “R” necklace.
As for Roman’s middle name, Reign means “rule or sovereign.” Romeo Reign was one of three names the couple was toying with in November 2020.
“We actually have three names, and I think we’re going to reveal that name once we give birth,” Mike told In Touch Weekly. “It wasn’t easy to actually pick a name because we were going back and forth for a couple months, but eventually the third name was a little bit more unique.”

Mike and Lauren welcomed their son Romeo Reign on May 26, 2021. According to social media posts, Romeo weighed six pounds, eight ounces, and 19 inches long at his time of birth.
“I’m so happy!!!!!” roommate Jenni “JWoww” Farley commented on Mike’s post. “WELCOME BABY!!!!!!” added Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
“Congratulations brother send my love to Laurenzz!!!” Ronnie Ortiz-Magro commented. “So happy he’s [looking] like Laurenz and not you. Miss you bro!!!”
“Welcome to the family Romeo!!!!!!” wrote DJ Pauly D. “Can’t wait to meet ya.”
Deena Cortese, Vinny Guadagnino, Chris Larangeira, and Double Shot at Love stars like Derynn Paige and Brittani “B-Lashes” Schwartz also sent well wishes to the Sorrentinos.
Many fans were counting down the days since Lauren announced her need for a C-section on the Here’s the Sitch podcast. Initially, she had the surgery scheduled for May 22, but the doctors said she could have a natural birth when the baby flipped.
According to the photos, it looks like Lauren ended up needing a C-section anyway. Regardless, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation fans are elated for the Sorrentinos. Showbiz Cheat Sheet extends congratulations to “The Situations!”
