Mike Tyson: What Is He Doing Now?
After knocking out so many men with his hands, Mike Tyson now wants to knock people out with some great weed. Tyson isn’t just in the weed game though, he’s also in the wellness game too.
In fact, Tyson’s now involved in a large amount of projects outside of weed. Here’s a look at what he’s been up to lately.
Mike Tyson’s movie career
After Tyson’s successful and hilarious role in the Hangover franchise, Tyson started getting a lot of other film projects in Hollywood. In a lot of his works, he’ll play himself, sometimes a realistic portrayal and other times a more fictionalized one.
One of the bigger roles that he got recently was in Ip Man 3, a martial-arts action movie where Tyson played a man named Frank. Tyson’s boxing skills and power allowed his character to play a big role in that film.
Another big role that Tyson got was as Roy in A Madea Family Funeral. Both of these movies did pretty well at the box office, but they’re not the end of Tyson’s film career.
Tyson currently has three film projects that are in pre-production right now, including the role of Lucifer in The Devil May Care. He’ll star opposite of Antonio Banderas, who’s playing God in the film.
TV and podcasting
Tyson’s TV work hasn’t been as prolific as his work in movies, but he did land a long-running show at Adult Swim. Mike Tyson’s Mysteries is a show where an animated and fictionalized Mike Tyson goes and solves mysteries.
The episodes are pretty short, but the show has been going on for 5 years now and it’s not expected to stop.
However, podcasting is what Tyson spends a lot of his time on nowadays, as he hosts a podcast called Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. Like the name implies, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson is a weed-based podcast though he and his guests will discuss a large variety of things.
For example, fighters, whether they’re boxers or UFC fighters, will often go on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. They’ll usually talk about the sport and Tyson’s glory days. However, when an actor goes on the podcast, the topics are more geared towards the guest’s interests.
Primarily though, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson serves as a way to advertise and share his weed. Tyson started Tyson Ranch in Southern California after California legalized the production of marijuana.
Mike Tyson’s weed ranch
Right now, Tyson Ranch is a 40-acre plot of land inside a larger, 420-acre estate. Tyson hopes to make use of all that land by 2022, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
Tyson Ranch presently grows weed, but it also produces CBD and hemp-based products. CBD products are well known for their wellness properties, and Tyson hopes to get in on that lucrative market.
According to Tyson, his ranch sells about $500,000 worth of products a month. But due to the nature of marijuana laws in the U.S., there’s a limited number of places where Tyson can do business.
Las Vegas is one of them though, and Tyson feels a special connection to the city. Like the Las Vegas Sun said, Tyson made his name at Las Vegas, as that’s where he fought most of his boxing matches.
He wants to give back to the city and he’s doing that by becoming the face of weed in Vegas. Tyson Ranch is already one of the most popular brands of marijuana products out there due to how popular Tyson is.
Right now, Tyson is expanding his operations in Vegas and he’s making his product available in as many different dispensaries as possible. By doing that, he hopes that more customers will be able to buy his products and thus, making him the face of weed in Vegas.
