Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher debuted their relationship in 2012, the year after they both announced the end of their long-term romances. During a chat with Esquire, Kutcher admitted that his now-wife helped push him in the right direction following his split from Demi Moore, but she wasn’t gentle about it. Kutcher insisted he needed tough love from his That 70s Show costar to start making significant changes.

Kutcher revealed that Kunis told him he had been an “a**hole” for a good two years,” after he tried to push back against allegations about him. Moore opened up about the troubled marriage years later in her book Inside Out. By that point, Kutcher had moved on and settled down with Kunis, but that doesn’t mean he’s stayed away from celebrity scandals since.

Mila Kunis wasn’t only willing to assess her husband’s character during his marriage to Demi Moore. She happily called herself out for being an “a**hole,” too. During a 2018 chat with Dax Shephard on his podcast Armchair Expert, Kunis admitted that she did many messed up things during her 20s. When asked about her relationship with Macaulay Culkin, She told Shepherd, ” I was an a**hole in my 20s, and I’ll be the first to admit it. And that’s kind of something that took me a long time to come out and say yeah, you know what? I was a d*** and I accept it and I own it now.”

Kunis dated the child star, Macaulay Culkin, for eight years before they split in 2011. When they met in 2003, her star was on the rise, and Culkin was battling to maintain a private life as an adult. At the time of the breakup, they claimed everything was amicable. Years later, Kunis admitted it was anything but cordial. It looks like she’s willing to take ownership of whatever happened, although she and Culkin continue to keep the details private nearly 15 years after the fact.
