Miley Cyrus Wants a Hannah Montana Collab with This Female Rapper
Miley Cyrus burst onto the scene in the mid-2000s on the hit Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. Cyrus played Miley Stewart, a regular teenage girl who just so happens to be a pop superstar.
Cyrus has entertained the idea of a reboot in the past year, and now the “Rockstar” singer is hinting at one female rapper she’d love for Hannah to collaborate with.
‘Hannah Montana’ was Miley Cyrus’ big break
Miley Cyrus was just 12 years old when she began working on Hannah Montana, and she made the character all her own. Cyrus’ character, along with her friends Lilly and Oliver (played by Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso, respectively), struggle with the normal things a middle schooler deals with, such as awkward relationships and changing friendships.
What makes Miley Stewart different from her classmates is the fact that by night, she dons a blonde wig and becomes the Hannah Montana superstar that fans on the show (and in real life) couldn’t get enough of.
Hannah Montana was inspiring for young kids everywhere as it taught them to always chase their dreams because nothing is impossible.
1 female rapper was a big ‘Hannah Montana’ fan
It turns out that Hannah Montana may have inspired one of the biggest artists of today: Houston-born rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
In a Twitter Q&A, a fan asked Megan what her favorite song from Hannah Montana is, and her answer was not what many people would expect: the emotional teen pop ballad “If We Were a Movie” from the show’s first season. Megan was a tween when Hannah Montana was on the air, so she was likely obsessed with the soundtrack at the time.
Megan even shouted out the character’s iconic blonde wig in her 2018 song “Tina Montana” (which is actually a nod to the Sopranos character Tony Montana and not the Disney Channel character), rapping, “Snatch off your wig like you Hannah Montana.”
Miley Cyrus’s dream Hannah Montana collab
Cyrus found out about Megan’s love for “If We Were a Movie” and came up with an idea that would make both of them happy — and would be a dream come true for Megan. “Can Hannah get a feature?” Cyrus said in response to Megan’s tweet; she used the hashtags “#HannahSnow,” “#HannahTheeStallion,” and “#HotGirlHannah” in reference to Megan’s many nicknames.
Cyrus has been a fan of Megan Thee Stallion since her rise to stardom starting with her 2019 mixtape Fever. During the #HotGirlSummer movement of that year, Cyrus posted videos of herself dancing to Megan’s hit “Simon Says.”
If fans are lucky, a Hot Girl remix of “If We Were a Movie” may become a reality.
