A little over 10 years ago, a gang of teens burglarized the homes of the rich and famous in Hollywood. They were called ‘The Bling Ring,’ and although they’ve been caught, their story hasn’t stopped people from robbing the homes of celebrities.

This was what happened to Miley Cyrus, but her case was a bit different. Cyrus’ home, back in 2013, was burglarized three times in the span of two years. Here’s a look at Miley Cyrus’ unlucky streak.

The three burglaries of Miley Cyrus’ home

According to NY Daily News, Cyrus’ home was first burglarized back in 2013. Little is known about this case, as unfortunately, it remains unsolved. What is known though, was that Cyrus lost about $100,000 in personal items and jewelry, but fortunately, Cyrus wasn’t home at the time of the robbery. Instead, she was away on tour. This will become a running theme.

In May 2014, NY Daily News says that a couple broke into Cyrus’ home and also stole jewelry. Unlike the first robbery though, the couple also stole Cyrus’ brand-new Maserati Quattroporte. The Quattroporte was not only an expensive luxury car, but it was also one of the fastest cars on the market at the time.

It’s not known how much money Cyrus’ Quattroporte was worth, but it’s estimated that it was worth about $120,000. Once again though, Cyrus was fortunately not home at the time, as she was away on tour. Furthermore, the burglars were caught and went to jail.

Then, on December 2014, NY Daily News says that Cyrus’ home was broken into again. The thief once again stole a lot of jewelry and personal items, and once again, Cyrus wasn’t home at the time. And thankfully, justice was served as the thief was caught and also went to jail.

Miley Cyrus’ missing Maserati

While a $120,000 car may not be that impressive in the world of fancy and exotic cars, Cyrus actually got a bit lucky with her choice of cars. As USA Today said, it wasn’t really hard to find Cyrus’ missing Maserati as very few Quattroportes are on the roads in America. USA Today says that 755 of them had been sold in the U.S. at that time.

The 2014 Quattroporte, which Cyrus owned,  has a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 which generated 404-hp and could hit 176 MPH. These were impressive stats for the time, and when the rarity of the Quattroporte was factored in, it made it easy for the police to locate the car.

Unsurprisingly, the police eventually found Cyrus’s missing Maserati, according to The L.A. Times. While the police are staying quiet about their methods, it wouldn’t be surprising if the DNA and fingerprints on the Maserati helped crack the case.

Miley Cyrus is safer now

For whatever reason, Cyrus’ home seems to be safer from burglars nowadays. Cyrus hasn’t talked about any security upgrades or changes, and she shouldn’t be. The last thing she needs to do is tell would-be burglars about the security systems that she has in place, as that just makes it easier for them to rob her.

But still, whatever she’s done, whether intentional or not, it’s been working. The burglaries have stopped, as far as anyone can tell. Cyrus definitely had security before this, and it really isn’t surprising that she or indeed, any pop star, had to upgrade their security.

Cyrus has been the victim of many stalkers, and fortunately, those stalkers have been stopped before things got too serious. Of course, crime and justice are in a constant tug of war. It’s possible that her future burglars are just waiting until she makes a wrong move. But, time will tell.
