Million Dollar Listing’s Josh Flagg and Bobby Boyd Divorce: ‘Josh Wants the Best for Bobby,’ Heather McDonald Says
Josh Flagg from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles surprised fans when he announced that he and husband Bobby Boyd decided to divorce.
Close friend Heather McDonald, who knows the couple well said she knew about the split weeks before Flagg’s announcement. She recently said Flagg genuinely wants the best for Boyd, but they decided to divorce because they are very different people.
Josh Flagg and Bobby Boyd split was sad
Flagg and Boyd shared statements about their divorce on Instagram, wishing each other the best. When the couple initially split, McDonald thought perhaps they were doing some soul searching to decide if they should actually divorce.
But, “When it was made definitive and I was made aware of it a little before this, I was sad about it, but they’ll both be fine,” McDonald shared on her Juicy Scoop podcast.
Lala Kent from Vanderpump Rules, who was McDonald’s podcast guest is also friends with Flagg and Boyd. “Yeah, I was sad about it too,” Kent said. “I love them both.”
The ‘Million Dollar Listing’ couple wanted different things
McDonald said Boyd and Flagg simply wanted different things. “Some people I talked to [asked] was it tension? Was it uncomfortable?” she said. “Actually it really wasn’t for me. I kind of just thought that was their fun banter. And I wasn’t really worried.”
“Also, I was telling you, we all have gay friends, you know, couples,” she said to Kent. “But a gay male couple is different than a female couple. I mean, we all have similarities in just being in a relationship. But there is stuff that’s different. And one of the things, they each had different groups of friends who would do stuff separately. Some of our mutual friends were like, I don’t think that’s good.”
“And I’m like, well, as a heterosexual couple, Peter goes off all day without me and I have my girls’ night with you, right? We’re fine 21 years later, so I’m like, So why can’t a gay couple have different, [friend groups],” she wondered. “So that didn’t concern me. But in the end, maybe I think they are very different people and they wanted different things.”
Bobby and Josh both still love each other
Kent said she could sense, especially from their statements they wanted different things. McDonald added, “What I’ve heard from Josh is that absolutely he wants the best for Bobby and his success and everything,” she said. “It’s just like they just were not in a happy state anymore. As you know, like waking up every day and then when you finally make that break and realize no one is happier.”
The couple never had children, plus they have the financial means to go their separate ways. “You know, a lot of people have to stay in something miserable because they can’t afford something different,” McDonald added.
“I care deeply about Bobby and have nothing but love and respect for him,” Flagg shared in his statement on Instagram.
Boyd’s statement reflected his love of Flagg too. “This may end our romantic relationship, but I’ll always consider him part of my family,” he wrote.
