‘A Million Little Things’: Will Eddie and Delilah Finally Tell the Truth About the Baby’s Father to Delilah’s Kids?
We found out last season on A Million Little Things that Eddie (David Giuntoli) is the father of Delilah’s (Stephanie Szostak) baby. Since then, we have all been on pins and needles waiting for everyone else to find out. Luckily, it turns out that the majority of the gang already knew it wasn’t Jon’s (Ron Livingston) baby. The only ones left who do not know are Jon and Delilah’s children.
Last night’s episode, the perfect storm, hinted at the possibility of revealing the paternity to the kids. Let’s take a look and see why or why not Delilah might tell the children the truth in season 2 of A Million Little Things.
Why Delilah hasn’t revealed the paternity of Charlie to her other children
In season 1 of A Million Little Things, we quickly found out that Delilah was cheating on her husband, Jon with Eddie. The situation grew dire when it was revealed that Jon knew about the infidelity before he took his own life.
As if that news was not bad enough, Delilah dropped the bomb to Eddie that she was pregnant with his baby. She also made him promise to tell everyone that the baby is Jon’s, not his. Eddie agreed, knowing it was the best thing to do for Delilah’s two grieving children.
Delilah feels that her kids, Sophie (Lizzy Greene) and Danny (Chance Hurtsfield), could not handle the news that their mother had been cheating on their deceased father. She might be right. Danny has recently come out to his family that he is gay but is having difficulty coming out at school. Sophie already was upset that her mother might be forgetting her father.
If it were solely up to Delilah, her children might never find out the truth about their baby sister’s father.
Why Eddie would like to tell Sophie and Danny the truth about the baby
In episode 4 of season 2, Eddie finally gets a chance to take care of his baby, Charlie. He is incredibly upset that he does not know the ins and outs of how to calm her down.
Eddie realizes that “I don’t want to be her babysitter. I want to be her father.” Slowly throughout the episode, he truly gets to know Charlie. We see him cuddle her and calm her, and we begin to feel sorry for him.
From how the episode played out, we can see that Eddie wants to tell the world that he is Charlie’s father. The next step for him is to discuss this problem with Delilah.
Fans have mixed feelings about Eddie’s predicament
Some people do not feel bad for Eddie because he is the one who cheated on his wife with another married woman. Others are sympathetic that he is missing out on critical time with his newborn.
One fan commented on Instagram, “See you should of thought of all this before you did what you did, Eddie.” Several others agree with this user.
However, many others liked this fan’s heartfelt comment, “This is ridiculous! Eddie seems to be the only one suffering in this situation. Delilah and Eddie are both equally responsible. Poor Eddie is missing the critical time when he should be bonding with his baby. Delilah needs to swallow her pride and tell the truth to her other two kids.”
The Instagram user continued to explain that “The longer she keeps this lie going, the more it will destroy them. As they get older, they will eventually find out the truth. Better to come clean now and spend the time repairing the damage that’s already been done.”
It is a tough situation that Delilah has put Eddie in, even if it is his fault. We will have to wait and see whether or not they decide to tell the kids the truth. You can watch new episodes of A Million Little Things on ABC on Thursday nights at 9 p.m.
