Miranda Lambert Explains How Her Marriage to Brendan McLoughlin is ‘Different’ Than Her Years With Blake Shelton

Country star Miranda Lambert seems happier than ever with her second husband, Brendan McLoughlin, but it’s hard to forget the days when Lambert was married to fellow country singer Blake Shelton. The two were one of country’s biggest power couples at the time, and everyone was shocked when they announced their divorce. But now, Lambert has found someone new, and she recently gushed about how her marriage to McLoughlin is different from what she once had with Shelton.

When these two were together, they were one of country music’s most well-known couples. But unfortunately, things don’t always work out as planned. Lambert and Shelton started dating back in 2006, and they didn’t rush into marriage. The two were together for about four years before Shelton proposed in 2010. And up until early 2015, things seemed to be going well between the two. In April 2015, Lambert tweeted a photo of Shelton’s guitar pick in her drinking glass, but it proved to be the last either of them would ever mention each other on social media. In July 2015, they announced that they were divorcing after four years of marriage.

There were rumors of infidelity in the couple’s marriage

After the divorce was said and done, rumors surfaced that cheating had been the reason for their split. However, who cheated still remains to be seen. Shelton and Lambert have both alluded to the other one being unfaithful, though there was never any proof or confession from either side. One of Shelton’s songs suggested Lambert had been with someone else, but according to various other rumors, Lambert was the one who was hurt by her ex’s infidelity.

Though things with Shelton ended roughly, Lambert has since found happiness with someone else — NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin. And she opened up about how her new relationship is far different from her time with Shelton. “When you truly find someone that loves you for who you are, and that you genuinely are smiling, it’s like a smile from the inside,” Lambert told ET Online. “It’s a light that kind of clicks on, that you really didn’t know was off.” Lambert did mention that she doesn’t want to get “too happy,” since she still needs to be able to write a sad song every now and then. Still, she had nothing but kind words to say about her new man.

The couple are reportedly very ‘chill’ together

Lambert and McLoughlin have been enjoying nights out on the town since they got together. And those who have spotted them out say the two seem very happy. One eyewitness told ET Online that Lambert and McLoughlin seemed “very chill” and were “laughing with each other and others around them.” It’s nice to see Lambert finally happy with someone after writing plenty of broken-hearted songs on her previous album, “The Weight of These Wings.” Lambert also just released her most recent album, “Wildcard,” and she seems to be in a much better place.
