Miranda Lambert Finally Finds True Happiness After Divorcing Blake Shelton
Miranda Lambert is one of the most popular artists in country music. Her career has spanned nearly twenty years and spawned hits like “Kerosene,” “The House That Built Me,” “Over You,” “White Liar,” and “Baggage Claim.” Still, as successful as Lambert’s professional life has been, her personal life hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
Her romantic relationships have been highly publicized and Lambert frequently lands on the covers of tabloids because of it. These days, Lambert may have finally found lasting happiness in an unlikely new love.
Miranda Lambert’s rocky relationship with Blake Shelton
In 2005, Miranda Lambert was still a rising star, anxious to prove herself to an audience of her peers, when she appeared on the television special CMT 100 Greatest Duets Concert. Lambert sang a duet opposite another young country music star, Blake Shelton, and sparks flew immediately.
There was only one problem — Shelton was married to Kaynette Gern. Still, Shelton and Lambert pursued a romance. Though the tabloids didn’t go easy on them, they eventually got married in 2011, well after Shelton divorced Gern.
All throughout their marriage, rumors flew that the couple fought like cats and dogs, Shelton had a drinking problem, and one partner wanted kids while the other didn’t. Despite telling the press they were perfectly happy, in 2015, Shelton and Lambert announced their divorce. They asked for “privacy and compassion” during the split, but neither waited long to release breakup albums full of sadness, vitriol, and regret.
Who did Lambert date after divorcing Shelton?
Lambert didn’t wait long to get back in the dating game following her split from Shelton. Toward the end of 2015, she revealed she was dating fellow country singer Anderson East. For several years, the two were inseparable and appeared at many red carpet events together. Lambert even said East “owns her heart,” but sadly, the romance didn’t last. By early 2018, Lambert and East had broken up and silently went their separate ways.
Not long after the dissolution of her relationship with East, Lambert stirred up controversy when it was reported that she was dating Evan Felker. The folk musician was married to Staci Nelson at the time. Reportedly, Lambert and Felker got involved during one of her tours, when his group would open shows for the country star.
Despite the media firestorm that followed, they didn’t date for long. In January 2019, Lambert shocked fans by announcing she married an NYPD officer, Brendan McLoughlin.
Lambert isn’t ‘sad’ anymore
Reportedly, Lambert and McLoughlin’s relationship is completely different than any of her previous matches. According to sources, Lambert “learned from her mistakes” of the past and is completely dedicated to making sure that her second marriage works out. McLoughlin has even taken leave of absence from his police duties to join Lambert on tour so the two can get enjoy some quality time, in spite of Lambert’s busy schedule.
Recently, Lambert praised McLoughlin and his positive effect on her life by chatting with fans at one of her shows. She stated she’s not at a sad point in her life anymore, thanks to her “sweet husband.” Certainly, there could be even more good news ahead for Lambert, as some reports recently indicated the country star could be pregnant.
While she hasn’t commented publicly on the rumor, if it’s true, it would signal a whole new beginning for Lambert, a star who has experienced more than her fair share of controversy and heartbreak.
