Miranda Lambert No Longer ‘Lays All the Blame’ for Divorce on Blake Shelton, Friend Says
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were once a legendary country music duo. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make their marriage last. The exes divorced in 2015 after tying the knot in 2011. And they don’t appear to have a friendship now that several years have passed post-divorce. However, Lambert might be turning a new leaf. Here’s what her friend said about how she no longer “lays all the blame” on Shelton for their split.
Miranda Lambert allegedly no longer completely ‘blames’ Blake Shelton for their divorce
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton had remarkable highs and lows through their marriage and divorce. When the couple announced their divorce, sources noted that they hoped to remain civil and friendly moving forward. However, Shelton appeared to shadily tweet about Lambert when she moved on with married musician Evan Felker. And they both later remarked on the difficulties of their public divorce.
“Been taking the high road for a long time … I almost gave up. but I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!” Shelton tweeted in 2018. Shelton later would not confirm or deny whether the tweet referenced Lambert, but he said he found it “funny” how fans interpreted it.
Both Lambert and Shelton have moved on completely from their split. Shelton married No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani in 2021. Lambert tied the knot with Brendan McLoughlin in January 2019. Lambert’s friend told In Touch Weekly that the country queen “no longer lays all the blame” on Shelton, as she’s now “older and wiser.”
“Miranda is older and wiser now and she no longer lays all the blame at Blake’s feet,” the source alleged. “Now, it still gives her fodder for writing hit songs!”
Blake Shelton said he was at ‘rock bottom’ while making music post-divorce from Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton both discussed their divorce. Lambert told CBS News that the public scrutiny was an aspect of her split that she felt the most unprepared for.
“I wasn’t prepared for that,” she said, according to In Touch Weekly. “Well, I don’t think anybody is. And it’s not nice sometimes.”
In 2020, Shelton opened up to Billboard about writing songs amid the split. He said listeners “can learn some facts” about his divorce in his album, If I’m Honest. “Maybe not specifics,” he continued, “but you can get a general idea about it. It is my divorce record, but maybe even more than that, it’s my happy, falling-in-love record too.”
“When we recorded the vocals for some of these songs, I was only six months removed from when all the crap went down,” Shelton added. “When you have a broken heart — at least, when I do — you got to get it out of your system. You want people to sympathize with you. I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell.”
The exes allegedly avoid each other at events
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are likely on civil terms in 2024. However, a source told Life & Style in June 2024 that the exes don’t want to attend events where the other is the “star attraction.”
“Their egos can’t handle it, and the brutal reality is that they can’t stand the sight of each other,” the insider continued. “They’re totally competitive, and there’s no love lost, and they don’t want any awkward confrontations. Some might say they don’t want the other to steal their spotlight.”
The source added that Shelton and Lambert’s friends think the exes need to “get over it and act like grown-ups, but they’re stubbornly holding onto grudges.”
