Mitchell Pritchett is particular about a lot of things. Birds. Leaving the lights on. Courtroom sketches of himself.

When one courtroom sketch artist decided to get back at this Modern Family character with some unflattering pictures, Cam went on a secret mission to try to save his partner from embarrassment. It was only fitting that this artist was portrayed by the Schitt’s Creek actor, Dan Levy.

ABC’s comedy series featured several returning characters, including Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, Phil Dunphy, and Stella. There was also the Cameron Tucker and Mitchell Pritchett, the fathers of Lily Tucker-Pritchett, who appeared on almost every episode of the Emmy Award-winning series, Modern Family.

After working for several private clients, including Closets, Closets, Closets, Closets!, Pritchett’s Closets, and the Dunphy family, Mitchell took a job as an assistant district attorney. However, his first high-profile case proved to be challenging for more than one reason.

Although they have lifelong friends like Pepper and Longines, Mitch and Cam made a few enemies during Modern Family. (That includes Cam’s many “arch-rivals,” like the Christmas Caroler named Andrew and the bitter bowler, Martin Sherman.)

One of those enemies happened to be working as a courtroom sketch artist where Mitchell was working a case as a DA. During the season 10 episode titled “A Sketchy Area,” Levy appeared as the bitter artist, Jonah, who rented the upstairs part of Mitch and Cam’s home.

Jonah walked in on the couple talking about them and as a result, the artist took his anger out on Mitchell via his unflattering portraits. Mitchell couldn’t afford to have mad portraits, especially during such a career milestone.

Cam eventually got some dirt on Jonah so he would stop drawing bad pictures of his partner. Levy wouldn’t be the only actor who guest-starred on Modern Family.

ABC’s comedy series had cameos from Millie Bobby Brown, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Peyton Manning. There were also recurring characters portrayed by Fred Willard and Adam DeVine.

Levy had already been on Schitt’s Creek by the time he guest-starred on ABC’s comedy series, Modern Family. However, it wasn’t until later that Levy’s series would be popular with audiences outside of Canada.

In 2020, this actor even earned several Emmy Awards for Schitt’s Creek, including Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. The comedy series debuted its season finale for season 6 in 2020.
