‘Moesha’ Fans Say Countess Vaughn Is the True Star of the Show
Moesha is streaming on Netflix and per social media users, Countess Vaughn is the true star of the show. Despite Brandy as the lead, fans are praising Vaughn for her performance as Moesha’s witty best friend. Interestingly, Brandy and Vaughn didn’t get along during filming but their on-screen chemistry is dynamic.

Vaughn stars as Moesha’s best friend, Kim. The two have been best friends since Kindergarten. While Moesha is a straight-A student and heavily involved in academics, Kim focuses on fashion and her social life. She’s also a talented singer and in an R&B and hip hop group under the management of Moesha’s boyfriend, Q.
Though she’s not fond of academics, she’s witty, funny, and lovable. She dreams of having her own clothing line and takes pride in her appearance. Kim’s friends joke about her outfits, laughing at her for shopping at the local thrift stores.

Kim’s social circle extends to being boy crazy. From season 1, she’s infatuated with her childhood friend, Hakeem Campbell. The two never date despite Kim’s persistence, but they become close friends. Kim’s steady boyfriend on the show comes in season 2 and they remain together throughout the remainder of her time on the series.
At the end of season 4, Kim is accepted into Santa Monica College. Vaughn leaves the show for her own UPN spinoff, The Parkers. The spinoff documents Kim and her mother Nikki’s journey into college together. As a single mother teenage mother, Nikki is happy to return to college alongside Kim.
Fans praise Countess Vaughn’s performance on ‘Moesha‘
Netflix subscribers are loving every bit of Kim. While Moesha is getting slack for being a bad friend and stirring up trouble, Kim is getting all of the praise on social media. Fans are enjoying everything about Kim, from her fashion – to her wit – to her partygoing ways.
“Kim on Moesha > Kim on The Parkers. I don’t make the rules,” one wrote on Twitter.
“Kim Parker wearing a Moschino Monopoly Print Blouse,” wrote another.
“Kim’s outfits in “Moesha” truly are legendary,” another chimed in.
“I’m so glad they gave Kim a spinoff. She made Moesha 10x funnier,” wrote another.
“Omg I’m on episode 2 and Kim is already stealing the show. Why is Countess Vaughn such a legend,” another asked.
Brandy and Countess Vaughn didn’t get along during filming of ‘Moesha’
As much as Vaughn steals the show, her starring role was the center of much controversy behind the scenes. During her time on the show, rumors ran rampant about her dislike of Brandy.

Brandy spoke of the tension between the two in a 1998 interview with VIBE Magazine, telling the publication:
I think she’s very funny, very talented. I just feel like she wants to be in the position I’m in. People tell her, ‘You’re the reason why the show’s successful.’ And she’s told me that before. And she’s called me a bitch—to my face. She said, ‘I’m the reason why the show is successful, bitch.’ In front of a lot of people. And I looked at her like, ‘Wow.’ I couldn’t say nothing about her because I wasn’t about to. She knows. She wakes up and looks at herself in the mirror and gets disgusted. I don’t.

Years later, the two seem to be on better terms. With talks of a Moesha reboot in the works, it’ll be interesting to see if Brandy and Vaughn will reprise their roles for the show.
