‘Money Heist’ Season 5 Volume 2 Release Date: When Do the Final Episodes Drop on Netflix?

As the Spanish crime drama Money Heist comes to an end, many fans want to know how the story will end. Viewers last saw the heist robbers trapped in the Bank of Spain with a million dollars in gold, with no way out. Money Heist fans are eager to see what comes next – if the gang will escape with the money or perhaps, meet an untimely fate. What is the release date for ‘Money Heist’ Season 5 Vol. 2?

Per Variety, Money Heist Season 5 Vol. 2 is scheduled to debut on Netflix on Dec. 3, 2021. This comes three months after the release of Vol. 1. In the finale, fans saw the gang trapped in the Bank of Spain. With the Professor in hiding, they are struggling to devise an escape plan. As the authorities close in, the money heist crew must weigh their options. The streaming service will release the Spanish-language series worldwide with English, French, Italian, and German dubbed translations. In addition, the subtitle options include English, French, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. 

Who is returning for the final installment?

In the last installment, fans will see the gang return for a final showdown. The ensemble cast will include Itziar Ituno (Raquel Murillo); Pedro Alonso (Berlín); Miguel Herran (Río); Jaime Lorente (Denver); Esther Acebo (Monica Gaztambide); Enrique Arce (Arturo Roman); Rodrigo de la Serna (Palermo); Darko Peric (Helsinki); Najwa Nimri (Alicia Sierra); Hovik Keuchkerian (Bogotá); Luka Peros (Marseille); Belén Cuesta (Manila); Fernando Cayo (Luis Tamayo); Fernando Soto (Angel Rubio); Jose Manuel Poga (Cesar Gandia); and Mario de la Rosa as Suarez.

Unfortunately, actor Úrsula Corberó won’t return to play Tokyo. In Money Heist Season 5 Vol. 1, Tokyo sacrificed herself to save the other robbers in the Bank of Spain. While some fans believed Tokyo survived the explosion, she meets an untimely fate. Her death is officially confirmed in the Money Heist Season 5 final trailer. While in tears, Denver uttered the words, “Tokyo is dead.” Then, Rio (Aníbal Cortés) is shown crying as well. While the gang is mourning her death, they must devise a plan to escape the Bank of Spain alive with the melted gold.

What should fans expect from the final season?

As the premiere date for Money Heist: Part 5 Vol. 2 steadily approaches, fans want to know how the story will end. While the storyline has remained under wraps, Money Heist creator Álex Pina teased the final installment will focus more on the “emotional situation” of the characters. 

According to Digital Spy, Pina said in a statement, “We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”
