BTS is partnering with McDonald’s to bring their favorite menu items to fans across the globe
One of the world’s biggest boy bands is now partnering with one of the world’s biggest fast-food chains. BTS and McDonald’s announced their collaboration, joining other artists like Travis Scott and J Balvin in creating a special meal for fans to order from the restaurant.
“The band has great memories with McDonald’s. We’re excited about this collaboration and can’t wait to share the BTS Meal with the world,” says BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Corporation), the label of BTS, in a statement.
This meal is expected to launch during May 2021, bringing the K-pop group’s favorite menu items to fans worldwide. (That is, except for the iconic Oreo McFlurry, a favorite dessert of the BTS singer, V.)
How much does the BTS McDonald’s meal cost?
The cost of the McDonald’s meal may vary based on global location as this menu item is available in almost 50 countries. However, fans in the United States have a rough estimate regarding this McDonald’s special.
According to meaww.com, “The cost of the BTS meal hasn’t been revealed yet. Average Chicken Nuggets meal of McDonald’s costs around $6.49.” This meal does have some special perks, though, available for the first time in the United States. That includes two new dippings sauces, reportedly inspired by the recipes from McDonald’s in South Korea.
What is included in the BTS McDonald’s meal?
This meal was designed with ARMYs in mind, complete with a release schedule of content on the McDonald’s social media accounts. There’s also a brand new bag available at the fast-food chain, featuring shades of purple.
According to a statement from Alistair Macrow, McDonald’s Global Chief Marketing Officer, “The band’s signature order includes a 10 or 9-piece Chicken McNuggets (depending on your market), medium World Famous Fries, a medium drink, and two dipping sauces – Sweet Chili and Cajun – inspired by recipes from McDonald’s South Korea.”
Although some fans speculated that this meal could come with a BT21 toy or “photo cards,” similar to partnerships with other brands, the meal most just features food items from the restaurant.
This wouldn’t be BTS’ first brand deal, as the K-pop group collaborated with Samsung, Starbucks, FILA, and The Coca-Cola Company, creating their own products in the process. Recently, these artists became brand ambassadors for the fashion house, Louis Vuitton.
