‘Murder Mystery’: Are Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler Married in Real Life?
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler have starred in two movies together, the most recent being Netflix’s Murder Mystery. While the Murder Mystery co-stars have been real-life friends since before both were famous, they never got together as a couple except in the movies.
Their romantic lives have been markedly different. Sandler has been married to the same woman for 16 years, while Aniston’s love life has been the subject of relentless tabloid gossip, especially through her high-profile relationships with Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux.

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston have very different love lives
Sandler’s romantic history is so simple, it can be summed up in a single paragraph. According to Married Biography, Sandler married actress Jacqueline Titone in 2003. They have two children: Sadie, born in 2006, and Sunny born in 2008.
On the other hand, articles can — and have — been devoted to Aniston’s love life. A rundown by Us Weekly lists no fewer than 13 romantic partners, although not all of them are absolutely confirmed. But the list runs from one-offs like Jon Stewart to her more famous long-term relationships.
Aniston has been married and divorced twice. Her marriage to Brad Pitt in 2000 made celebrity reporters dizzy. But after rumors started flying that Pitt had hooked up with Angelina Jolie after Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the marriage dissolved. They divorced in 2005. Pitt and Jolie themselves split in 2016.
After romances with the likes of Vince Vaughn and John Mayer, Aniston met Justin Theroux in 2007. The two didn’t start dating until they starred in Wanderlust in 2010. They married in 2015 but separated amicably last year. In a joint statement, they said:
Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.
Jennifer Aniston is fine being single
Although dating, and more specifically the pressure cooker that comes with being a major celebrity, has been difficult, Aniston seems sanguine about it. She told Harper’s Bazaar: “My time on this planet has been about … It hasn’t looked a certain way. It’s my way; it’s what I’ve been given this round. But I would say I don’t find any of my past has given me a reason to harden up and create a shell or a wall of ‘No more, that’s it, I’m closed.'”
Aniston has said that she doesn’t so much believe in a soul mate as a soul cluster. In other words, a good circle of friends can be just as good, if not better than a romance.
“I’ve had some of my friends for 35 years,” she said.. “I think we’ve all made some sort of unconscious agreement. It’s like when certain groups of people meet, they form a little soul cluster — a sort of common group of souls who have been put together.”
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are platonic life partners
Aniston would definitely include Sandler in her soul cluster. The two have made only two movies together — Just Go With It and the Netflix movie Murder Mystery — but the pair have an easy chemistry, as noted in People.
Sandler told Ellen DeGeneres: “Every time I’m with Jennifer, something great happens because everybody loves Jennifer. I tend to stay at home and do nothing, and my wife is so much going, ‘Why didn’t I marry Aniston? Why am I stuck with you, man?’ Even in Italy (where Murder Mystery was shot) , she’s like, ‘You gotta leave the room, man.'”
For her part, Aniston told Jimmy Kimmel: “We were friends before Friends … We must have been real family in another life.”
Considering how well Murder Mystery is doing, perhaps the pair will consider working together more often. Murder Mystery was watched by more than 30 million Netflix accounts.
