Like so many of us, My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore has had a rough 2020. After a rollercoaster of a relationship with Chase Severino that ended with a broken engagement, TLC fans want to know — is Thore currently dating?

Thore and Severino’s relationship was captured on My Big Fat Fabulous Life. They met through Thore’s friend and business partner, Ryan Andreas. After a whirlwind romance, Severino proposed to Thore during a trip to Paris. Naturally, TLC cameras were there to capture it all.
Thore and Severino’s relationship came to a screeching halt in May 2020 when she announced she had called off the engagement.
“Chase and I are no longer engaged,” Thore wrote on Instagram on May 22. “After experiencing a lot of ups and downs and still living apart, Chase reconnected with a woman with whom he has had a long history. Chase recently told me this information and the fact that it had resulted in a pregnancy. Chase will be a father in October.”
Regardless of what some fans might think, Thore seems to have been emotionally invested in her relationship with Severino. In promos for the upcoming season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, she appears heartbroken about their breakup.

Despite their breakup, it seems Thore wants to remain civil with Severino. When she posted to social media promoting the new season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, naturally, fans had many questions about her broken engagement.
Thore didn’t directly address her previous relationship, but she did ask fans to keep things positive.
“Like I said in the caption, negativity doesn’t help anyone,” Thore said.
She also addressed the authenticity of her relationship with Severino, as some fans think it was staged for the show. “For the last 5 years, I’ve had to deal with people accusing EVERY person in my life of being an actor or actress, saying that they wouldn’t be there if they weren’t getting paid,” she replied to another comment.
Some fans think Whitney Way Thore and Buddy Bell could be in a relationship
After calling off her engagement, Thore was spending a lot of time with her best friend Buddy Bell. In June 2020, Life & Style reported Bell had been staying with her.
As Bell explained it, Thore was having a “tough” time dealing with the emotional situation. Still, Bell remained supportive of his friend.
“She’s the toughest woman I know,” he said. “I’m excited about what the future will bring for her.”
At the time, Bell said he and Thore were keeping things light-hearted.
“There have been a lot of tears and talks but mostly we’re just kickin’ it,” he explained. “I’ve been cooking a lot and every night we watch a movie or a show. We’ve been laughing a lot.”
Despite her history with Bell, it doesn’t look like the two are together at this time.

At this time, it doesn’t look like Thore is in a relationship or seeing anyone. She addressed fan questions on social media, talking about how difficult it is to try and date during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
It has been hard for Thore to meet new people, considering the social distancing limitations in place. Plus, Thore is likely still healing from her heartbreak over Severino.
