My Big Fat Fabulous Life‘s Whitney Way Thore started 2020 engaged to Chase Severino. By May, she called the engagement off. Many fans are certain TLC staged Thore’s relationship with Severino. Now, fans think they’ve found more evidence proving the relationship to be fraudulent.  

Whitney Thore called off her engagement to Chase Severino 

My Big Fat Fabulous Life documented Thore’s whirlwind romance with Severino. The TLC series also captured the moment their engagement fell apart. 

When the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic swept the nation in March 2020, Thore and Severino were still engaged, but not quarantined together. This put a lot of pressure on their relationship.

Ultimately, Severino admitted he slept with another woman. Thore opened up about her heartbreak on social media, informing fans that she had called the wedding off. 

“Chase and I are no longer engaged,” Thore wrote on Instagram. “After experiencing a lot of ups and downs and still living apart, Chase reconnected with a woman with whom he has had a long history. Chase recently told me this information and the fact that it had resulted in a pregnancy. Chase will be a father in October.”

Many ‘MBFFL’ fans think Whiney Way Thore’s relationship with Chase Severino was staged 

Many fans of the TLC series feel Thore’s relationship with Severino was staged for the show, given how quickly everything progressed. Thore has been outspoken about her heartbreak, ensuring fans that what she is going through is very real. Still, certain fans aren’t convinced. 

Fans first started speculating their relationship might be fake when Thore and Severino returned from Paris. A fan who was on their flight said the couple sat in separate rows.

“They did not meet one another when we deplaned and got their baggage separately at baggage claim?!?” the fan said on Reddit. 

Then another fan found a post on Sara Jackson’s Facebook — the woman many fans assume Severino broke his fidelity with — and shared it on Reddit. The post is from July 2019 and features Severino and his dog at a tavern in Wrightsville, North Carolina. Fans assume Severino was dating Jackson at a time the show says he was dating Thore.

Is Chase Severino’s house on ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’ fake?

Now, there’s even more evidence pointing toward Thore and Severino’s relationship being fake. An aggravated fan on Reddit says the house shown on My Big Fat Fabulous Life — the house Severino invited Thore to move into — isn’t his real residence. 

“It’s very easy to see that he has been on Rosemont Ave in Wilmington for a very long time with his wife/fiancé/girlfriend,” they started. “She also owns this home. This house also just happens to be a short walking distance to Flying Machine Brewing, which is where Piper has been spotted much earlier by the Insta watchers.” 

According to this fan, there’s “no way” Thore couldn’t have known Severino was “living with his lady and his dog.” 

“This house TLC is showing is a fake,” they concluded. “Shame on you TLC.” 

Whether or not this fan is correct remains to be seen. Thore has expressed being heartbroken by the chain of events with Severino — an experience that still seemingly stings.
