Aside from being one of tennis’ biggest stars, Naomi Osaka is an unapologetic fan of the K-pop group BTS. The celebrity shared her love for songs like “Dream Glow” and “Make It Right.” She even created a fan account celebrating one rapper from the boy band.

Here’s what we know about her potential BTS bias, as seen by her Instagram amount name.

Naomi Osaka is a BTS fan

She’s an Olympic athlete ranked No. 1 by the Women’s Tennis Association. Aside from her passion for tennis, Osaka is an ARMY, meaning she’s a fan of BTS. However, that’s not the only K-pop group she supported.

“I got into BIGBANG and 2NE1, especially CL…,” Osaka said at a press conference for the 2019 Mutua Madrid Open, according to WTA Tennis. And then I just saw BTS doing a lot of related stuff, so I was like, who are these kids? Then I slowly started getting into them during the ‘I Need U’ era.”

That makes this tennis player a fan since around 2015, since sharing her love for select songs. In 2019, she claimed “Make It Right” was one of the best songs off of Map of the Soul: Persona. Before a tennis match, she warmed up to the song featuring Jin. Jimin, Jungkook, and Charli XCX, titled “Dream Glow.”

Who is Naomi Osaka’s BTS Bias?

This tennis player has not officially stated who her BTS bias is. However, there are a few clues from Osaka regarding her favorite group members. In fact, in 2020 she tweeted, “Fun fact: I once had a IG page called ‘free Hobi’s forehead.’ And that’s on Bangtan Sonyeondan.”

This name was in reference to one of the rappers in this group who performs under the stage name, J-Hope. Sometimes the dancer pushes his hair back while styling it. As a very rare occurrence, the name of this account made sense to fans of the “Outro: Ego” performer.

This tweet from Osaka earned thousands of likes from ARMYs, some sharing pictures of J-Hope with his exposed forehead. However, the BTS members have not yet responded to the support from this award-winning athlete.

Naomi Osaka isn’t the only celebrity fan of BTS

Osaka is a fan of this K-pop group and members like J-Hope. However, several other celebrities shared their love for this boy band. That includes John Cena, who said as a fan of “old school rap,” RM and J-Hope are his biases.

Halsey, who collaborated with BTS for “Boy With Luv,” claims she doesn’t have a favorite. (She also collaborated with Suga for one song off of her album, Manic.) Other musicians like Justin Bieber and Sofia Wylie support the K-pop group and recent releases like the chart-topping single, “Dynamite.”

Music by BTS, including J-Hope’s solo song titled “Outro: Ego,” is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major platforms.
