When Narcos premiered on Netflix in 2016, the Spanish language series became a huge success. The drama series centers around Colombia’s illegal drug trade. After three seasons, the beloved show created a crossover series called Narcos: Mexico. Now that the series is nearing its third and final season, fans can’t wait to see how the story will end. When is the third season premiering on Netflix?

In September 2021, Netflix announced Narcos: Mexico Season 3 will premiere on Nov. 5. According to Oprah Daily, film production was delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The drama series started production before the pandemic shut down shows around the world. As a result, production for Narcos: Mexico Season 3 halted. After production companies implemented coronavirus safety guidelines, the cast/crew resumed filming.

In Narcos: Mexico, each episode consists of narration that explains the cartel business. Previous seasons were narrated by DEA agents Pedro Pascal (Javier Peña), Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook), and Walt Breslin (Scoot McNairy). The new season features a new narrator named Andrea Nuñez (Luisa Rubino). She is a journalist that is on a mission to expose the drug business.

The third season of Narcos: Mexico is available to watch on Netflix. Subscribers can access the streaming service by visiting the official website. To access the content, users can sign in or create an account. 

Aside from the website, potential users can download the Netflix app through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. The app is downloadable on smart TVs, Android/Apple devices, Playstation/Xbox, set-top boxes, and Blu-ray players. However, the streaming service does not offer a free trial period. The basic monthly plan is $8.99, the standard is $13.99, and the premium is $17.99. 

What is ‘Narcos: Mexico’ Season 3 about?

Set in the 1990s, Narcos: Mexico Season 3 will center around the globalization of the drug trade. During this time, the business exploded around the world. In the third and final season, the narrative will examine the war that starts after Félix Gallardo’s (Diego Luna) incarceration. 

Per Netflix, the official synopsis reads: “As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty – and every arrest, murder, and take-done only pushes real victory further away.”

Who is returning for ‘Narcos: Mexico’ Season 3?

For the last installment, fans will see a lot of familiar faces return. The ensemble cast includes  Scoot McNairy, José María Yázpik, Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda, and Gorka Lasaosa. 

Aside from the series regulars, the new season will feature guest stars as well. New cast members include Luis Gerardo Méndez as (Victor Tapia), Alberto Guerra (Ismael aka El Mayo Zambada), Luisa Rubino (Andrea Nuñez), and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, also known as Bad Bunny will guest star as Arturo “Kitty” Paez.
