The drama series started production before the pandemic shut down shows around the world. As a result, production for Narcos: Mexico Season 3 halted. After production companies implemented coronavirus safety guidelines, the cast/crew resumed filming.
In Narcos: Mexico, each episode consists of narration that explains the cartel business. Previous seasons were narrated by DEA agents Pedro Pascal (Javier Peña), Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook), and Walt Breslin (Scoot McNairy).
