‘NCIS’: A New Agent Is Joining the Team
NCIS will reportedly have a new agent joining the show. Jack Sloane’s recent departure leaves room for another cast member. What can we expect for the rest of NCIS season 18? Here’s everything Showbiz Cheat Sheet knows.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for NCIS Season 18, Episode 9.
The ‘NCIS’ team has suffered major loss
Jack Sloane left the team, Breena is dead, and Emily Fornell is dead. And don’t forget Ellie was almost blown up in an airplane and McGee was almost shot and killed. Last season, Kasie was held hostage with Palmer in a diner. The team has a lot they need to unpack emotionally. This was probably the worst time for them to lose their staff psychologist.
Kasie has been having a tough time dealing with everything that has transpired at work and in her personal life. It was bad enough that her sister lost her job and had to move back in with their mother. She then got a call that her mother was in the emergency room for chest pain. Her mother and sister weren’t getting along, and this put a lot of stress on her mother.
A new ‘NCIS’ agent joins the team
Hopefully, a new addition to the team will lighten the mood. According to Deadline, a new agent will be joining NCIS. Former Hawaii Five-0 star Katrina Law will play NCIS REACT Special Agent Jessica Knight. Her character specializes in hostage negotiations. According to the publication, Jessica will appear in the last two episodes of season 18, and she has an option to become a series regular if the show is picked up for season 19.
If you’re worried Jessica will be in competition for Nick’s heart, you have nothing to fear (at least we don’t think so). Jessica likely won’t interfere with whatever is brewing between Nick and Ellie. According to Deadline, she’s married to a stay-at-home dad. Jessica and her husband have a new baby at home, so she probably has her hands full.
Katrina Law’s rise to fame
One of Law’s early roles was in the 1987 film An Autumn’s Tale. Her next film project was the 2000 movie Lucky Numbers. The following year, she appeared in an episode of Third Watch titled “Man Enough.” In 2007, Law landed a recurring role on The Rookie: CTU. She played Kate Wyman for six episodes.
Law got her big break in 2010 after appearing in The Resistance, in which she played Lana for eight episodes. Her next recurring role was in the series Spartacus. She played Mira from 2010 to 2012. Law’s other acting roles include appearances in Sacred Lies, Arrow, the Training Day television series, and Hawaii Five-0.
‘NCIS: Hawaii’ is reportedly coming to CBS
Could Jessica’s arrival introduce a backdoor pilot for NCIS: Hawaii? It has been reported that NCIS: Hawaii is in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NCIS: New Orleans showrunner Chris Silber will be heading up the new series. The publication also says writers are being hired for the show. Right now, there’s no confirmation on whether NCIS will be renewed for season 19.
