One question many fans have is why de Pablo changed her mind and decided to reprise her role as Ziva David. During a recent interview with the Build Series, de Pablo revealed her reason for coming back. She said she returned for the fans. She also returned because she felt Ziva finally had a storyline she was excited about:

At a certain point, it just became a very organic thing to go back and to do it for primarily the fans and obviously because there was something that was written by a woman who I respect very much and also somebody who really respects the character and wants to do right by the character. And who’s a mother, who’s a very powerful woman herself. And so, I thought, this is in good hands.

Why isn’t Cote de Pablo on social media? The actress said during her Build Series interview that she isn’t on social media because she’s having too much fun living her life. She also said she’s a very private person, so posting updates on social media really isn’t her thing:

I’m not on social media, so it’s incredible. It’s almost like you’re talking about a world that I’m not a part of. That every once in a while, I’m like, ‘Oh, what are you doing? What’s going on out here?’ And all of a sudden, I realize [social media] is fascinating. It’s funny, the other day, one of my really good friends said, ‘Why are you not on social media?’

I’m not saying no to it, but when I’m out having fun, I’m not taking pictures of myself; I’m just having fun. And I’m too busy having fun so I haven’t really had a moment. However, I know how it can be an incredibly powerful tool. And how very smart people sometimes use it as a platform to shed light on certain issues. So, I’m not completely opposed to it, I just need to find an angle. But it’s something I’m negotiating within myself because I’m an incredibly private person.

In an interview, de Pablo said she left because of politics on the show and because she wasn’t happy with the writers’ plans for Ziva:

They were going to send [Ziva] back to Israel and make her a sad, miserable woman. I said, ‘What do I leave all the women that are watching and following the show?’ And I didn’t think it was fair. So, I said, ‘Unless someone can really write something fantastic, I won’t go back… Unfortunately, because of political things and the scripts not being good enough, I chose not to [stay]. I love this character. I worked eight years in crafting this character and loving her, so when I felt or I perceived the character was not being treated with the respect that she deserved, all the money in the world couldn’t buy [me].
