‘NCIS’: Is Mark Harmon Threatening To Sue Pauly Perrette Over Her Assault Claims?
Insiders claim Mark Harmon is taking to the offensive in his ongoing war with former NCIS star Pauley Perrette. In the latest development, Harmon reportedly warned CBS to control Perrette’s behavior on social media or else he will take legal action against her. The threats come weeks after Perrette accused Harmon of assaulting her on the set of NCIS.
Mark Harmon is ready for legal action
Harmon reportedly sat down with several CBS executives to discuss what Perrette has been saying on social media, according to Radar Online. The NCIS star, who feuded with Perrette in the years leading up to her exit, allegedly told network bosses that he will sue them if they do not get a handle on the situation.
“You’d better rein in Pauley Perrette — or I’ll sue her!” a source claimed Harmon said. “Mark told them he hasn’t hired a lawyer — yet, but is ready to take legal action if she continues to claim he assaulted and intimidated her!”
A few weeks ago, Perrette took to Twitter with some shocking claims about Harmon’s behavior at work. The actress, who left the series in Season 15, told fans that she is still “terrified” of Harmon and that she will never return to the show because of what he did. Sources later revealed that Perrette says Harmon body checked her in a show of intimidation after she complained about him to CBS executives.
Sources close to Harmon claim that he never did anything to intimidate Perrette and that he feels as though the entire situation has been blown way out of proportion.
Though Harmon himself has not commented on Pauley Perrette’s claims or his reported actions after her social media spiral.
Will CBS side with Mark Harmon?
Perrette is currently gearing up for the premiere of her new show on CBS, titled Broke. While the network is hoping Perrette can draw a large audience, Harmon is easily a more popular star. In fact, Harmon reportedly expects the network to back him up and has a game plan ready to repair his public image.
This includes hiring some PR staffers to leak positive stories about him in the media. Harmon has not commented on the reported feud, nor has he responded to Perrette’s accusations on social media.
Harmon has been a part of the NCIS family since the show’s first season. He also serves as an executive producer of NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans and clearly has a lot of pull within the ranks of the network. Given how the crime drama is CBS’s most popular drama now that The Big Bang Theory is over, there is a strong chance that executives will support Harmon at all cost.
Unfortunately, CBS has not said anything about the situation, so it will be interesting to see how they handle things in the coming months.
Did Mark Harmon assault Perrette?
A few weeks ago, Perrette lashed out on social media after fans asked her if she would ever consider returning to NCIS. She claimed that Harmon physically assaulted her in 2017. The actor tried to bully Perrette because she was unhappy with how he was allowed to bring his dog to work. Harmon’s dog allegedly bit a crew member, landing the staffer in the hospital with 16 stitches. Perrette alluded to the dog attack in a previous tweet and also shared photos of the crew member who sustained the injuries.
In light of the situation, CBS released a statement in 2018 confirming that Perrette complained about a workplace issue. The network, however, says that they did everything in their power to resolve the problem and that they provided a safe workplace for everyone on the show. Shortly after the statement went public, Perrette openly thanks CBS for working with her and always supporting her endeavors.
What does the future hold for Mark Harmon?
It is anyone’s guess how CBS will handle Perrette’s accusations, but Harmon is doing his best to move on. The actor is currently gearing up to start production on Season 17 of NCIS. With Cote de Pablo returning as Ziva next season, fans would not be more excited about what is ahead for their favorite characters on the show.
As far as his personal life goes, Harmon has remained quiet about his feud with Perrette, something that is not likely to change in the coming months. This is especially true if Harmon decides to take legal action against Perrette.
NCIS is scheduled to return to CBS later this year.
