Who plays Anna Kolcheck on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles?’
The actress who plays Anna Kolcheck is Bar Paly. Her first credited appearance was in a 2016 episode titled “Matryoshka Part 1.” Before that, she had two uncredited appearances back in 2015. Although Paly’s character used to be romantically linked to Callen, she returned to the show because she had an important message for the agent. She needed to let Callen know he was in danger and that he would need to work with his enemy to put a stop to a trafficking ring.
Bar Paly’s movies and TV shows
Paly made her acting debut in 2003 in the TV movie Big Tuna. In 2006, she appeared in a TV movie titled Filthy Gorgeous. Kolcheck made her film debut in the 2008 movie The Ruins, in which she played an archaeologist.
Paly landed her first recurring role in 2008 in the television series Starter Wife. She played the character Lola for five episodes. Then from 2016 to 2017 Paly played the role of Krizstina in the series Jean-Claude Van Johnson.
How Bar Paly became an actress
Paly was a model before she became an actress. She told Galore magazine it was important for her to keep modeling while she pursued acting roles so she could continue to pay her bills:
I always knew that acting was my passion. I attended a Performing Arts high school and acting was the reason for my move to Los Angeles. I was lucky enough to have modeling as a job, because as a young actor one must have a “second” job that actually pays the bills.
So it’s not like I had a sudden shift in careers. I always pursued acting and did roles on TV shows and took acting classes – it’s just that only now all the hard work is finally paying off and people get to see me act in more major projects.
How Bar Paly says she’s like her ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ character Anna Kolcheck
During an interview with Parade, Paly spoke about the similarities between her and Anna. She says one big similarity is they’re both loyal to their loved ones.
“I’m really connected to that aspect of her that is extremely loyal to the people she loves, and it’s a very small group of people,” says Paly. “I don’t think she has a lot of friends. She’s very guarded. Again, like I mentioned before, it comes from a place of, if you care for somebody, that’s going to be her weakness. Somebody can use that against her, so I think that’s why she’s guarded. This loyalty in her to those people is something I understand and relate to.”
What’s next for Bar Paly
Paly’s next NCIS: Los Angeles appearance will be Season 11, Episode 18, titled “Missing Time.” In this episode, the NCIS Los Angeles team must look into the disappearance of a Department of Defense officer who was investigating UFO sightings. Anna will also make a big decision concerning her future.
