Warning: This article contains spoilers for NCIS: Los Angeles: Season 12, Episode 12.
Kensi and Deeks get close to having a baby
Kensi (Daniela Ruah) is starting her fertility treatments, which means she will have to inject herself with hormones. Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) isn’t fond of the idea because he hates needles, but he agrees to help Kensi with the injections. Their fertility doctor says doing the treatments together will encourage a team process.
“You know how much I don’t want to do anything that causes you pain, like, ever,” says Deeks. Once he finally calms down, he successfully assists Kensi with her first injection. Kensi has side effects but manages to push through and help with the case.
Kam is thinking about going a different way
Sam (LL Cool J) decides it’s best to keep his daughter, Kam, close by. After she was kidnapped because of her work with Students for Humanity, he’s more comfortable keeping an eye on her and making sure she’s OK. Kam isn’t thrilled about the arrangement because it’s her final semester and she wants to spend the time she has left with her classmates.
“I should be spending these last few months with my classmates,” says Kam. “Not here, on a boat smaller than my dorm, bunking with my dad.” One of Kam’s complaints is that Kam sings loudly in the shower. He also snores.
Sam later tells Kam he’s worried her extracurricular activities could jeopardize her standing at Annapolis. He says even if it’s “good trouble” it could still be a problem. She then tells him she’s thinking about not going to Annapolis, but Sam wants her to reconsider. It seems that Kam didn’t like what Sam had to say, so she stopped returning his text messages.
Callen thinks he found the person who was following him
Callen (Chris O’Donnell) notices two men have been following him all morning, so when he gets his chance, he goes after one of the guys. After he corners him in an alley, Callen brings him in for questioning. The man claims his name is Maksim Myshkin and that he’s a tourist.
He also says he’s a mechanical engineer for an oil extraction company. Maksim says he was just taking in the sights, but Callen isn’t buying it. “What sights were you taking in when you chased me into a dead-end alley?” he says.
Callen has Fatima look into Maksim, and she says all his credentials seem legitimate. Now, Callen thinks Carlson might have been telling the truth when she said the Department of Justice wasn’t following him. They still had doubts, but Fatima said they had to let Maksim go.
Nell later reveals she received a troubling email from Hetty. The email is a request for grocery items for a party. Fatima and Nell figure out the grocery list is code and Hetty is trying to warn the team about impending danger. Nell says it’s possible the email could be linked to the situation with Callen.
Callen and Anna reunite, and she reveals she’s working with Maksim and she’s on the run from Katya, who kidnapped Joelle. Maksim suddenly knocks Callen out and tells her there has been a change of plans. Callen later receives Joelle’s finger in the mail. We’ll have to wait until the next episode to find out what happens. Will Callen and Anna survive this latest development?
