Even the most powerful men in New Orleans have a brother they never knew about. Such is the case with NCIS: New Orleans lead, Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula). He and his newly-discovered half-brother, Jimmy Boyd (Jason Alan Carvell), are just getting to know each other.

In 2018, Pride turned to Jimmy to help solve a case that would clear their father Cassius’s name. Jimmy may have only appeared in a handful of episodes, but here’s what we know about him.

How did Pride meet his brother, Jimmy?

Pride met his brother, Jimmy Boyd, in the 2018 episode, “Close to Home.” The NCIS team placed informant, Mateo Diaz (Octavio Rodriguez) in protective custody. The informant was a high-school gang-member. Pride and his team investigated the murder of a junior reserve officers’ training corps instructor.

Pride only just met Jimmy a month prior in the introduction episode, “In the Blood.” They didn’t have a typical brotherly time together. Instead, they had to ban together to help Cassius untangle himself from an unsolved casino heist.

Naturally, Pride turned to Jimmy when he needed help gaining Mateo’s trust. In the time since, the two have bonded. This became clearer after the death of Cassius. Also, becausePride’s still recovering from his kidnapping, and the loss of Special Agent Christopher LaSalle’s (Lucas Black) death, Jimmy is more important than ever.

Who plays Jimmy?

Jason Alan Carvell plays Pride’s half-brother, Jimmy Boyd and he’s a relatively new actor on the scene. His social media presence is vague as well. Though he had a small role in the 2003 short film, Spot: The Professional, Carvell’s “bigger” projects came later.

If you recognize Carvell’s face, he’s appeared on Elementary, Blue Bloods, and The Blacklist, Daredevil, and Better Off Single, among others. According to his website, Carvell studied at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and The Moscow Art Theatre School, Russia

Carvell may be recognizable as a voice actor. He’s narrated “for scores of History and Nature Documentaries and brought dozens of characters to life in commercials, Television and Feature Films.”

The role of Jimmy Boyd on NCIS: New Orleans is his recurring part on primetime TV.

Will fans see more of Jimmy in season 6 of ‘NCIS: New Orleans’?

There’s no definitive answer as to whether Carvell will reprise his role of Jimmy Boyd when NCIS: New Orleans. However, he’s already been an increasingly more important part of Pride’s life. We think fans will get a little more Jimmy in their lives.
