‘NCIS’: Who Plays Merriweather?
Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Fornell (Joe Spano) spent most of NCIS Season 18 trying to track down the head of a drug ring. Their efforts proved successful and they were able to locate Merriweather, the man responsible for distributing the drugs that almost killed Fornell’s daughter. Who is the actor who plays Merriweather? Here’s what Showbiz Cheat Sheet knows.
Merriweather is the head of a drug ring
Merriweather first appears during NCIS Season 18, Episode 3. Fornell didn’t realize it, but Merriweather was standing right next to him at Beltway Burgers. His daughter (Karen, also known as Sasha Myshkin) got very upset with Fornell when he dropped a tray of food and drinks and got her designer shoes dirty.
When Karen looked down and saw her shoes, the first thing out of her mouth was, “Hey, watch the Gucci!” She then demanded napkins. Her father, Merriweather, offered to get them for her.
Gibbs and his team find out later that Merriweather’s real name is Alexi Myshkin. He used seven different aliases to easily travel around the country. He was also using his daughter’s bank account to hide money.
Who plays Merriweather on ‘NCIS’?
The character Merriweather is played by Nick Boraine. One of his early acting roles was in a 1997 episode of the television series The Adventures of Sinbad titled “The Beast of Basra.” He played the character Kullu.
The following year, Boraine made his film debut in the movie Sweepers. In 2010, he landed a recurring role on The Mating Game, in which he played Warren for seven episodes. He has also appeared in Designated Survivor, Chicago Fire, and Homeland.
Who plays Merriweather’s daughter on ‘NCIS’?
Merriweather’s daughter is played by actress Anna Grace Barlow. If she looks familiar to you, it’s probably because you’ve seen her in an episode of The Young and the Restless. She played Zoe Hardisty for 10 episodes in 2019.
One of Barlow’s early roles was in the 2008 short film One Lucky Boy. After that, she appeared in the 2015 film Perspective: Chapter 1; The Party. Barlow’s other roles include appearances in All Rise, The Goldbergs, Scream Queens, and Castle.
McGee and Gibbs have a long road ahead of them
Now that Merriweather is off to jail and things are settling down, McGee (Sean Murray) and Gibbs have to work on rebuilding their relationship. During their mission to take down Merriweather, Gibbs shot McGee to keep him from getting too close to a plane that had explosives on it. Now, McGee will have to spend time healing and processing what happened to him.
“It’s not like McGee just throws on a Band-Aid and says, ‘We’re good, Boss,’” Murray tells TV Line. “We very realistically explore some of the emotions and thoughts of the aftermath of what that really would be in dealing with that. Just the shock of what it is and the reality of, how do we face this and move past this?”
