NCT 127’s Album ‘Neo Zone’ Lands at No. 5 on the Billboard 200
NCT 127 just made history again. With their newest album, Neo Zone, the group became the fourth K-pop group in history to ever have an album in the top 10 spots on the Billboard 200 chart. NCT 127’s album Neo Zone placed at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, which is NCT 127’s highest ranking yet.
This is NCT 127’s third time on the Billboard 200
NCT 127 first landed on the Billboard 200 chart in 2018 with their first studio album, Regular-Irregular. With this album, NCT 127 placed at No. 86 on the chart. In 2019, their fourth EP We Are Superhuman debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
Now, NCT 127 have surpassed their two previous records. Billboard recently announced that Neo Zone, NCT 127’s second studio album, ranked at No. 5 on the famous Billboard 200 chart. According to Nielsen Music, Neo Zone earned a total of 87,000 equivalent album units, 83,000 of which were traditional album sales.
This makes Neo Zone NCT 127’s highest-charting album to date. The accomplishment also makes NCT 127 the fourth K-pop group in history to ever break into the top 10 spots on the chart. NCT 127 steadily climbing through the Billboard 200 chart showcases their impressive growth over the past couple of years.
NCT 127 keeps making history
The band’s new ranking on the chart should come as no surprise to NCTzens. Over the past year, NCT 127 have continued to make history across the world, growing their fan base even more.
On Nov. 3, 2019, they became the first K-pop group to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Weeks later, they became the first K-pop group to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 28.
NCT 127 released Neo Zone on March 6, 2020. Just a few days later on March 10, the group performed at RodeoHouston, becoming the first K-pop group to do so. In the span of a little less than six months, NCT 127 made history internationally at three different large-scale events.

Obviously, fans are proud of everything NCT 127 have accomplished with this newest comeback. To celebrate the Billboard 200 achievement, fans wrote encouraging messages to NCT 127 on Twitter.
“Neozone is #5 on billboard 200!! Congrats to nct 127, it’s their highest charting album so far, love seeing them grow and improved every comeback,” one fan tweeted.

“i just wanna say that i’m so proud of nct 127 & nctzens…even tho we’re going up against big artists(in korea & internationally on bb chart) we’re still doing so well on the charts + the virus outbreak delaying shipping of albums which affects album sales & promotions,” a fan tweeted.
