It’s a good day to be a NCTzen. Not only is NCT 127 set to have a comeback in 2020, Jungwoo will resume activities with the group after taking an extended break for health reasons.

NCT 127 will have a comeback in 2020

According to a report from Jan. 23, NCT 127 will have a full comeback in 2020. Jungwoo will also resume activities with the group after taking a temporary break for health concerns.

“Jungwoo who is on a rest from August because of health reason will join NCT 127 back after 6 months with his healthy self,” reads a translation of the report.

NCT 127’s highly-anticipated comeback approaches after the group made history in 2019. That year, NCT 127 became the first K-pop group to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The group’s 2019 EP We Are Superhuman debuted at No. 11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. The album also debuted at No. 1 on the World Albums chart. Based on the anticipation for the comeback, it’s possible that NCT 127’s next album could perform even better on the charts.

NCT 127 will make history again on March 10, 2020. The group is scheduled to perform at RodeoHouston 2020. The annual event will also feature Gwen Stefani, Khalid, Becky G, and more. With this performance, NCT 127 will become the first K-pop act to perform at RodeoHouston.

Jungwoo took an extended break from NCT 127

In August 2019, SM Entertainment revealed that Jungwoo was taking a break from NCT 127 due to health concerns. The group was scheduled to perform at “Spotify on Stage in Midnight Sonic” on Aug. 16, 2019. Before the event, Spotify announced Jungwoo would not perform for health reasons.

The NCT 127 member then did not participate in Capitol Congress 2019 and the recording for “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – Chuseok Special.”

When asked about Jungwoo’s absence, SM Entertainment commented that, “Jungwoo is currently resting due to health reasons.”

Throughout the rest of the year, NCT 127 members periodically updated fans and assured them that Jungwoo was doing well.

“You don’t have to worry too much about Jungwoo,” Taeyong said in a VLIVE broadcast. “He’ll be back in a healthier state, with a better mindset.”

Fans are excited for Jungwoo to return to NCT 127

Immediately after the news of Jungwoo’s return was released, the NCT 127 member trended on Twitter. While fans are excited about an NCT 127 comeback, it’s even more exciting that the comeback will be with Jungwoo.

“NCT 127 COMEBACK WITH JUNGWOO IS HAPPENING !!!! BE READY,” a fan tweeted.

“Welcome back our dearest Jungwoo!! So happy to hear the great news that he’ll be joining the boys again! #WelcomeBackJungwoo,” a fan tweeted.
