Is It Time For Nene Leakes To Leave ‘RHOA’ Forever? Bravo Star Reacts
Nene Leakes has been under fire on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The Bravo star started off season 12 at odds with most of the cast members. Since the beginning, she has tried to repair her friendships with the ladies but Kenya Moore has been reluctant to forgive her. The latter has been extremely critical of Leakes and even suggested producers were phasing her out of the show. With the OG Housewives leaving their respective franchises, is it Leakes time to leave?
Is Nene Leakes being phased out?
Leakes did not appear in the first couple of episodes of season 12 of RHOA. The reality star was still negotiating the terms of her contract as production for the show had started. Moore has said it’s Leakes time to move on from the franchise and has suggested she’s on a road to getting cut.
“She tries so hard to tell people she’s the HBIC,” Moore said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “She’s the this, she’s the that. She’s the originator. ‘Oh, the real premiere just starts…’ And in fact, her presence now is not impactful at all. She’s missed out on at least four to five episodes this season, so that clearly means the network is sending you a message. You’re not as important as you think you are.”
Moore alleged that Bravo doesn’t want her on RHOA anymore because she is not interesting.
“The message is very clear: either the network feels that you are still a valuable asset on the show or they don’t, and you’re replaced and phased out, and you just have to move on,” Moore continued. “NeNe has been on the show for a very long time, and I just think the cast is not gelling with her. She always puts herself on an island. She makes these fights with people that don’t actually have to occur and she’s really the cause of her own demise.”
Does Nene Leakes it’s her time to leave ‘RHOA’?
Leakes shared with her fans that she is not being cut from episodes despite what Moore keeps on suggesting.
“I have not been cut out of any episodes,” Leakes clarified. “I negotiated my episodes just like everyone else did. I’m getting every dime I asked for. Thank you for asking and clearing that up Andy, that means a lot to me.”
The Glee alum said that if producers believed it was her time to go, she would accept it.
“If it was my time to go, I absolutely have no problem with that, because the show has been good to me,” Leakes told ET. “I’ve been there since day one, and I opened up this door so that Kenya ‘Big Mouth’ Moore could walk through it, OK?”
Andy Cohen also dispelled Moore’s claims about Leakes being cut from RHOA.
“I don’t think she’s being cut out of episodes because I think everything that was shot with NeNe is in the show. We’re not cutting anything out,” Cohen explained on Watch What Happens Live leaving Moore speechless. “Everything that we shot… there’s nothing that’s been left out.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
