Get ready for ‘Celebrity Show-Off’

Like that title? The fresh series is an adaptation of a Korean TV show called My Little Television. The Masked Singer has become somewhat of a gateway cocktail for wonky but mesmerizing TV, and this competition show comes to you from the same producers.

Mayim Bialik hosts the virtual series which features celebrities such as Tori Spelling creating their own unfiltered, out-there content online while competing for the most views.

According to a press release from TBS/WarnerMedia, the format will have each participant vying for the top spot. The prize? A donation to a charity of their choice. Per TBS, here’s how it works:

Five celebrities from the worlds of sports, music, comedy, TV, and film will face-off by creating quirky self-shot content that premieres online. The celebrity’s goal is to attract and engage the most online viewers to keep their digital shows “on the air” – and avoid being the channel that “goes dark.”

Each week, the stars will come together in an inventive high-tech virtual studio where they will screen and react to each other’s content and find out who will remain in the competition. And in an innovative “twist,” the lowest-performing celebrity will be replaced with a brand new surprise celebrity newcomer, adding a new layer of thrills as everyone vies for the largest internet following.

Celebrity Show-Off premieres on TBS on June 23 at 10 p.m. EST. Episodes can be viewed the next day on the network’s YouTube channel.

Nene Leakes and more are in the cast

In addition to Leakes, fans will get to see Diplo, Kevin Smith, Spelling, Ja Rule, Bella Thorne, rapper Action Bronson, basketball star Dwight Howard, Jason Mraz, and others. They’ll all be going head-to-head to see who can come up the best viral videos.

TBS/TNT’s head of unscripted programming Corie Henson said this in a statement:

“Wait until you see what this cast has pulled off. From sharing never-before-seen talents, to performing crazy stunts or even bringing on special guests, the celebs’ shows are creatively ambitious with DIY charm – since our cast are all working with the limitations of what they’ve got available at home.”

What is Korea’s ‘My Little Television’?

Celebrity Show-Off is based on My Little Television which launched in South Korea in 2015. Dig through YouTube and you’ll find an assortment of videos from the original series, including this contestant below who—with the aid of puppies—achieved 1 million views.
