‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 3: Who Is Newcomer Anirudh Pisharody and His Series Character?
Netflix is ready to premiere Never Have I Ever Season 3 this August. The new season will continue Devi’s (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) story where it left off in the second season. But new teaser photos reveal a new character into play by the name of Nirdesh, or Des for short. The Never Have I Ever Season 3 character will be played by actor Anirudh Pisharody and fans will recognize him from a high-stakes drama series.
What do fans know so far about Des in ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 3?
The second season of the Netflix series gave Devi some competition with the arrival of a new Indian American student, Aneesa (Megan Suri). She made Devi green with envy over her effortlessly cool persona, well-liked by everyone and smart. There was a rough patch between the two characters in the second season. But find some resolve by the end and become friends.
According to Deadline, Never Have I Ever will bring in a recurring Indian American character. Nirdesh, or Des, is introduced as a new teen to the story. He is just as smart as Devi and Aneesa but attends an elite private school. It is unclear how he will meet the main characters or his role in the season.
Des could get involved with Aneesa as a friend that later develops into a crush. This is largely due to Ben finding out at the end of Never Have I Ever Season 2 that Devi still had feelings for him. Aneesa will get caught in two love triangles and find comfort in Des. Before August, fans can get to know more about Anirudh Pisharody before Never Have I Ever Season 3.

While Pisharody will play a teenager in Never Have I Ever Season 3, the actor is 28-years-old in real life. He has played many guests and supporting on-screen roles in his career. In 2018, he was the restaurant guy in The Bold and the Beautiful and Rashad in the 2020 series SEAL Team. Pisharody also played roles in The Goldbergs, Last Man Standing, and Morgan’s Secret Admirer.
The actor got his first main cast role in the action drama 9-1-1 ON FOX. From 2021 to 2022, Pisharody played the role of Ravi Panikkar / Probie for 18 episodes. Ravi makes his introduction in season four in the episode “Jinx.” He is a newbie and probationary firefighter.
Deadline reported that Pisharody would star in the thriller movie Unit 234. He will join actors James DuMont, Christopher James Baker, Manny Galan, Juvian Marquez, and previously announced cast members.
The movie storyline focuses on “a lone employee at a remote storage facility (Fuhrman) discovers an unconscious man locked inside Unit 234, chained to a gurney and missing a kidney. She must then fight to survive a ruthless gang, dead set on retrieving their precious cargo…at any cost.” Pisharody Tweeted his excitement, stating, “Yeeeesh so excited to finally share this!! Can’t wait to show everyone that I’ve ACTUALLY been working in the Cayman Islands.”
Will Anirudh Pisharody take part in ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 4?
Details about the new season of the Netflix series are still under wraps as the August premiere date approaches. Fans are not 100% clear on the storyline for the season but have small tidbits based on the second season’s finale and the teaser photos. It is unclear where Des’s storyline will lead in the new season and if he will stay for Never Have I Ever Season 4.
