New Mother Maralee Nichols Shares First Pictures of Tristan Thompson’s Alleged Baby
A new bundle of joy is here, but whether everyone is happy to see the child still remains to be seen. Khloé Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson is in the middle of a paternity battle with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols over a baby that he allegedly fathered. Amid all of the drama, Nichols recently shared the first picture of her new son.
Maralee shares first photos
Nichols has been largely silent while dealing with the paternity lawsuit. But she recently shared a photo of her son with Us Weekly and gave a statement.
“My goal is to raise our son in a safe, healthy, loving and private environment,” she said in a statement attached to a photo of the baby taken on Dec. 6. “Instead of focusing on any negativity, I am choosing to embrace being a mother and doing the best I can for my son.”
In the photo, Nichols and the five-day-old baby are wearing matching Christmas pajamas and sitting in front of a Christmas tree. The trainer elaborated on her relationship with Thompson in the statement, according to People.
“I do not want any further media attention, nor do I want a romantic relationship with Tristan.”
Tristan Thompson’s lawsuit was thrown out
During her pregnancy, Nichols filed a paternity lawsuit against Thompson in June. In response, Thompson filed his own suit in July in Texas. His lawsuit, however, has been thrown out.
“Regardless of whether any act of conception occurred in Texas that could have led to the conception of the child, they [allegedly] had a lengthy relationship spanning multiple states,” a source told Us Weekly. “The child was born in California, the mother resides there and so does Tristan. It would make sense the judge would dismiss this given the facts and the California lawsuit filed prior to the Texas one.”
Tristan Thompson doesn’t want to be in the child’s life
Thompson has been battling with Nichols privately about the matter as well. Leaked texts recently revealed that he offered Nichols $75,000 to drop her lawsuit.
“You know how I feel,” he wrote in the texts obtained by HollywoodLife. “My feelings haven’t changed at all. Won’t be involved at all. Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong.”
“You are aware that I’m retiring after this season,” he continued. “So in terms of support, it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed. It’s Texas, so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So, you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed.”
How is Khloé Kardashian handling all of this?
Though Kardashian and Thompson are not together now, they were when the baby was allegedly conceived. Kardashian reportedly is trying to stay out of the drama that has nothing to do with her and is just focusing on co-parenting with Thompson.
