Netflix’s 2025 lineup is stacked, with new seasons of Stranger Things, Squid Game, and Wednesday on the horizon. But fans of some of the streamer’s more popular shows are out of luck. Several titles were noticeably absent from the recent “Next on Netflix” event, the company’s preview of films, series, and games coming in 2025.

The splashy event – which was held at Hollywood’s historic Egyptian Theatre on Jan. 29 – teased a number of high-profile coming releases, including movies like Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and RIP with Ben Affleck, live streaming events like Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, and prestige TV like Zero Day and The Beast In Me. Fan-favorite shows Squid Game, Stranger Things, and Wednesday will also return this year. 

But what about Bridgerton, The Lincoln Lawyer, Virgin River, and other popular series? Fans of those series will have to wait a bit longer for new episodes. 

Bridgerton Season 4 wasn’t mentioned during the “Next on Netflix” event. Chances are, the new season – which will focus on Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie (Yerin Ha) and is based on the book An Offer From a Gentleman – won’t arrive until sometime in 2026. Season 3 premiered in May 2023. 

Netflix just renewed legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer for a fourth season, with production set to begin in early February. But it doesn’t look like there will be a quick turnaround on the new episodes, since it also wasn’t included in Netflix’s “coming soon” list. Season 3 of the show, which stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, premiered in October 2024. 

Another recently renewed show, Virgin River, is also taking a break in 2025. Outer Banks, One Piece, The Gentlemen, 3 Body Problem, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Beef are also on hold until 2026.
