Who Is New York Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones’ Girlfriend Ella Bonafede?
The New York Giants selected Daniel Jones with the sixth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He began his career backing up veteran quarterback Eli Manning and eventually replaced the two-time Super Bowl champion. Playing under the bright lights in the big city doesn’t come without pressure and Jones had the added component of filling some big shoes after Manning retired.
On March 7, 2023, “Danny Dimes” signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the team before tearing his ACL in the latter half of the year.
One woman has been by his side through every up and down since he’s been the signal-caller in New York and that is his girlfriend Ella Bonafede. Here’s more about her and the story behind the romance rumors between Jones and a sports personality while he’s been with Bonafede.
How long Jones and Bonafede have been together
Bonafede was born on June 30, 1997, in Cleveland, Ohio.
She attended St. Anthony’s High School before enrolling at Duke University in 2015 and that’s where she met Jones, who she has been dating ever since.
After graduating from Duke with a degree in Evolutionary Biology and Global Health, Bonafede attended New York University and earned her master’s degree in public health. Per her LinkedIn page, she was part of the CITI program and is a biomedical research investigator. Bonafede previously worked as a research assistant at Guidepoint, in product development at the PAN Foundation, as a research coordinator at Weill Cornell Medicine, and as a product manager for CDC Foundation. Today, she’s an employee with Breakthrough T1D at JDRF International as a program manager and researcher. JDRF International is an organization focused on developing studies to find cures for type 1 diabetes.
She’s an athlete as well
Like her beau, Bonafede is an athlete as well.
In high school, she played on the lacrosse team and racked up 61 goals, 42 assists, and 66 ground balls. She earned all-league honors, U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American, and was an Under Armour Underclass All-American.
Bonafede continued playing the sport when she attended Duke. In four seasons on the women’s lacrosse team, she played in 31 games and had 16 points She was also part of the ACC Academic Honor Roll during each year she played with the Blue Devils.
Bonafede can’t be happy with the rumors about Jones and this on-air personality
Something Jones’ girlfriend can’t be too happy about are the rumors that flooded the internet recently about him dating someone else.
Those rumors started in August 2024 after former Good Morning Football host Kay Adams interviewed Jones on her podcast Up & Adams. Some commented that they seemed flirtatious as Adams quizzed Jones about his “supernatural” beard and giggled in response to several of his answers.
At the start of the podcast, she stated that Jones was a “good friend of mine” but that didn’t stop romance chatter from lighting up the internet. The following month, Adams attempted to address that when she interviewed Jones’s teammate guard Jermain Eluemunor.
“You gotta protect your boy, my boy, the world internet thinks [he’s] my boy,” she quipped to Eluemunor. They both then began laughing about the rumors before Adams said she was done talking about the subject.
