As Bachelor Nation fans patiently wait for new episodes of The Bachelorette, some viewers are spending the off-season checking in on former contestants — and apparently, the castmates did not disappoint. Recently, Nick Viall and Andi Dorfman reunited, sparking speculation about the pair’s relationship status. But are Viall and Dorfman dating? The former bachelor clarified whether he got back together with his ex on Instagram.

Before Viall appeared on Bachelor in Paradise and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette, he was a contestant on Dorfman’s season in 2014. The couple hit it off right away. Then Viall and Dorfman continued dating until she picked her final rose, Josh Murray.
A year after their engagement, Dorfman and Murray split. Meanwhile, Viall went on to The Bachelor after almost proposing to Bristowe on The Bachelorette and Jen Saviano on BIP. Viall chose Vanessa Grimaldi. However, the pair called off their engagement after five months.
Regardless, it seems Viall and Dorfman remained friendly toward one another. Prior to The Bachelor Season 21 premiere, Viall, Dorfman, and Bristowe reunited on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Of course, the segment was awkward. But everyone seemed to get along fine.
“We talk every once in a while,” Dorfman said at the time.
Then Viall added, “We’ve run into each other. We’re friends. We’re friendly.”

On June 16, Dorfman revealed she was moving out of New York City and moving to California.
“With a mix of emotions I say, ‘Farewell NYC!’” Dorfman wrote on Instagram. “The time has come to say goodbye and trust the magic of new beginnings … I find myself uncertain of what lies ahead, I also look forward to smelling that California air and smiling with that same excitement.”
Then a day later, Us Weekly reported Dorfman and Viall were spotted running together at the Santa Monica pier. The publication also posted a photo of the exes captured by a fan.

After Viall and Dorfman were seen together, Bachelor Nation fans wondered what this meant for their relationship. They questioned whether the pair were just friends or even dating. Meanwhile, Viall shared he is seeing someone in an episode of The Viall Files podcast.
“I recently had a conversation with someone that I’m dating,” Viall said, per E! News. “The question was, ‘What if we’re not compatible about this thing?’ I was like, ‘We’re not compatible about that thing. But I don’t know what that means about everything else.'”
Viall didn’t specify who he was dating at the time. So when the former bachelor was spotted with Dorfman, some fans wondered whether the two got back together. However, Viall immediately shut down the rumors on Instagram.
“Sorry for the buzz kill … not dating,” Viall wrote on June 18. “Additionally, the only benefits that come from this friendship is conversation and running tips. Enjoy the day.”
