Tekashi 6ix9ine has only been out of prison for a few weeks, but he’s already in the middle of drama. He recently started feuding with rapper Meek Mill after the Championships star took shots at 6ix9ine’s criminal history. Amid their back-and-forth, Nicki Minaj‘s name was brought up — even though she had absolutely nothing to do with their beef.

How the feud between Meek Mill and 6ix9ine began

It started on May 8 when Meek Mill went on Twitter to share what 6ix9ine should say on an Instagram Live he had planned later in the day. It was 6ix9ine’s first since his April release from prison.

“I hope that rat going live to apologize to the people he told on or the victim…..,” he said of 6ix9ine, who testified against former associates in a 2019 racketeering case in exchange for a shorter sentence. “Y’all forgot that fast a “rat” killed Nipsey [Hussle]. He wasn’t supposed to be on the streets! That’s the only thing ima day because he’s dead… left his baby mom and child like a coward as targets!”

Clearly unbothered, 6ix9ine tweeted, “Imagine having a newborn baby come into the world & be pressed about a Mexican with rainbow hair.”

While 6ix9ine went off to release a new song called “GOOBA,” Meek Mill continued to take jabs at the rapper on Twitter. He called 6ix9ine’s music “trash” and posted a video of himself rapping to show he is the real “goat.”

Tapping back in, 6ix9ine wrote: “Imagine being this pressed. Nicki don’t want you no more.”

Minaj and Meek Mill dated for two years between 2015 and 2017. The pair had a huge falling out after their split, with each of them throwing barbs at the other in the years that followed.

The drama came to a head in January when Meek Mill allegedly got into a fight at a store with Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty. And there was more drama in February when the rappers got into it on Twitter.

During that feud, Minaj accused Meek Mill of abusing her. And he criticized her for allegedly defending her brother, Jelani Maraj, who was convicted in January of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. Throughout it all, fans have argued that Meek Mill has yet to get over Minaj, despite the fact that he has a girlfriend and a new baby.

Later, Meek Mill seemed to offer an apology for his role in the 6ix9ine beef

Although he did not directly mention 6ix9ine, Meek Mill apologized on Twitter for lashing out.

“I’m sorry I lash out sometimes when I see people playing like that lol I been locked up too many times like a animal,” he wrote before encouraging someone to help control his behavior. “Sam change my passcode and don’t give it me nomore.”

He did not publicly address 6ix9ine’s comment about Nicki Minaj.

For her part, the “MEGATRON” rapper has yet to weigh in on the situation altogether.
