Nicole Kidman Goes Glam in Sleek Black Gown at Premiere of Her New Netflix Series
Nicole Kidman showed off her glamorous side at the U.K. premiere of her new Netflix series on Sept. 2.
The Oscar-winning actor donned a sleek black gown as she walked the red carpet with her The Perfect Couple co-stars, including Liev Schreiber and Eve Hewson. The limited series stars Kidman as a disapproving mother-in-law whose plans for a lavish society wedding are derailed by the discovery of a dead body on the beach.
Kidman, 57, opted for a dramatic, figure-hugging Balenciaga gown for the show’s London premiere. The strapless dress comes from the designer’s pre-fall 2024 collection, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
The black satin gown’s design references Balenciaga’s classic envelope dress from 1967, WWD noted. The new dress features a dramatic, diamond-shaped neckline.
The Australian actor completed her elegant red carpet look with dangling, geometric earrings, pin-straight hair, and a bold red lip.
Kidman and her co-star Hewson were all smiles as they posed for a photo at the event in London. Hewson plays the woman engaged to the son of Kidman’s character in The Perfect Couple.
Kidman and Hewson were joined at the premiere by fellow cast members Schreiber, Sam Nivola, Billy Howle, Jack Reynor, and Ishaan Khattar. The Perfect Couple also features Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, and Isabelle Adjani.
The Perfect Couple is based on Elin Hilderbrand’s bestselling book. Kidman plays Greer Garrison Winbury, a famous novelist and member of one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Greer has spared no expense in planning her son’s upcoming wedding to Amelia Sacks (Hewson). The celebration promises to be the premiere wedding of the season — until a body turns up on the beach. As the investigation unfolds, secrets come to light in a mystery that seems to come straight from the pages of one of Greer’s books.
“As you see the curtain drawn back, you’re like, ‘Oh. My. God,” Kidman told Hey U Guys (via YouTube) at the premiere. “So hopefully people find it entertaining and exciting and kind of addictive.”
All six episodes of The Perfect Couple premiere on Netflix on Thursday, Sept. 5.
