Nicole Polizzi Talks Quitting ‘Jersey Shore’ Says ‘It’s Not Like Our Friendship Is Over’
There could be a Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season without Nicole Polizzi because she quit. The cast is now reacting to it but the reality star is giving some hope for their future together. Find out what she had to say about her friendship with her fellow cast members and more.
Nicole Polizzi decided to quit ‘Jersey Shore’
Polizzi became a reality star through the MTV show. But now she is ready to walk away.
“I am not coming back to Jersey Shore [Family Vacation] for a season 4, if there is one,” she said on It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey. “And there’s a lot of reasons why, but the main reason is really … I’m just like, I just can’t do it anymore.”
The mother gave her reason for leaving the job. “I hate being away from the kids,” she said. “I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. And I wanna be home with the kids. You know, like, I don’t mind here and there going to a dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show.”
Mike Sorrentino said he doesn’t agree with her leaving
The other cast members don’t seem happy about her choice. Mike Sorrentino talked about his opinion with Us Weekly.
“I didn’t agree with it, but I have to support my sister,” he told Us Weekly. “I had texted her, called her and tried to convince her to reconsider but she has to do what’s right for her and we have to support her as a family. Maybe she’ll come back and revisit, maybe she’ll have a change of heart. Who knows? I’m hopeful for the future.”
Vinny Guadagnino seemed to be understanding. “It’s like, you want to do this thing so bad but you get pulled back in to your newborn baby and stuff,” he said. “So hopefully, she can find a way — if there is one out there — to balance both. But right now, the scale, I think, was kind of tipping toward, it wasn’t working out.”
Polizzi said their friendship isn’t over
Polizzi talked about her decision to walk away from the show. Again she said her family is the reason she is done.
“In general it’s very hard for me, especially after [having] Angelo. Because having the three kids and really only [my husband,] Jionni [LaValle], helping out, it’s just not easy,” she told Us Weekly. “I feel like when I’m filming and I’m trying to do the show and then a kid’s crying or a kid’s sick, it’s just not easy for me.”
She continued, “And then I don’t want to be there and I want to be home being a mom. Even though it’s a short period of time, it’s just very hard for me. There were a lot of things that went into my decision but I just feel like for me as a mother and as a person, I just needed to make the right decision for me. My kids come first.”
There is a good chance fans will see her make a small appearance in the future. “I’m not just like ‘F this show.’ I love my roomies. I love the show,” she said. “I’m still here! It’s not like our friendship is over.”
