Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi May Be Done With ‘Jersey Shore,’ but She’s Not Done With Television
When Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 3 ends, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will move on. There were several contributing factors to Polizzi’s decision to retire from Jersey Shore, but none as important as being with her family.
Fans are curious about what Polizzi will do in the next chapter of her life. Fortunately, her future could involve another series.
‘Snooki’ is leaving ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’
Polizzi has experienced a wealth of success on MTV. After doing the original Jersey Shore series, Polizzi agreed to do a spinoff show with castmate Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Snooki & Jwoww. Then, the guidos and guidettes made their triumphant return in Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
Then, in December 2019, Polizzi announced her plan to exit the series on her podcast, It’s Happening with Snooki and Joey. “I am retiring from Jersey Shore,” she said. “The main reason is really I just can’t do it anymore. Literally, leaving my kids to film [the show] is really hard on me.” She explained how much she dislikes being away from her kids, as well as the difficulty she has had “partying three days in a row.” “It’s just not my life anymore,” she concluded.
What’s next for Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi
Removing herself from the Jersey Shore series is going to free up a lot of time for Polizzi. Considering that she chose to leave the show to raise her kids, it’s safe to say she’ll be spending a lot more time with her family. Polizzi shares three children with her husband, Jionni LaValle: Lorenzo, Giovanna, and Angelo.
What’s more, Polizzi said she’s “not done with TV — I’m just done with that show,” she told People. “I want to do something that’s fun and entertaining.” When Polizzi announced her Jersey Shore retirement on her podcast, she referenced how the show had become “so serious” and how she didn’t “like the person [she was] portrayed as.”
Just because Polizzi is leaving Jersey Shore doesn’t mean that she will be done with television altogether. “I’m actually in talks about doing other shows right now, maybe hosting some things,” Polizzi mentioned.
When she’s not filming or raising her children, Polizzi has plenty of other endeavors that keep her busy, including running her boutique, The Snooki Shop, and co-hosting the It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey podcast.
Will ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ replace ‘Snooki’?
After season 3 of Family Vacation concludes, fans are wondering how the next season will go — if there’s going to be one. MTV has yet to confirm a season 4 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, but if they do, will Polizzi be replaced?
At this point, it’s difficult to say how the showrunners are going to handle the void Polizzi leaves. The show went on when Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola chose not to return for the reboot. If Family Vacation returns for another season, they’ll likely carry on without replacing Polizzi.
However, there’s always the possibility that other roommates will back out of doing the show, too. Vinny Guadagnino and Pauly DelVecchio have found success in their spinoff endeavors. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is in the process of trying to start a family. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Farley are both parents of young children — fans have seen Farley trying to juggle filming and raising her kids throughout season 3. Will she want to return for another season? Only time will tell.
Tune in to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Thursday nights on MTV.
