One of the biggest scandals in Keeping Up with the Kardashians history was the cheating love triangle between Khloé Kardashian, her then-boyfriend (and father to her baby) Tristan Thompson, and Kylie Jenner’s former best friend, Jordyn Woods. The scandal blew up the entire family and fans heatedly got involved on one side or the other.
The Kardashians are no strangers to crazy rumors and scandals, but this affair between Thompson and Woods was one of the rumors that fans most didn’t want to believe was true. Let’s recap what happened, and get into why fans were so reluctant to believe this affair really happened.
Crazy rumors about the Kardashian family that turned out to be true
Recently, KUWTK fans heatedly discussed on Reddit about crazy rumors that they’d heard about the Kardashians that turned out to be true. The scandal involving Thompson cheating on Khloé Kardashian is far from the only crazy rumor about the family that fans didn’t believe was true. Before we recap the affair, let’s talk about some of the other scandals that the Kardashian family has faced.
One member said that Caitlyn Jenner’s gender transition was, for them, the craziest Kardashian rumor that turned out to be true. “I honestly thought the tabloids were lying about it, until she came forward & confirmed it,” they commented. A few others agreed: “I remember watching the 20/20 and thinking she was gonna deny it all. And then she confirmed it … it was shocking!!!” someone else added.
Another event that fans couldn’t believe was true was that Kim Kardashian West got robbed at gunpoint in Paris. “Even more shocking was hearing that she was actually bound and gagged. That’s f***ing terrifying,” a fan commented. It’s not hard to see why that event would have been hard for most fans to believe! “It’s also confusing to me, still, that people don’t believe it happened or was for publicity/insurance fraud,” another user added, providing some insight into the non-believers at the time.
The Kardashian-Thompson-Woods cheating scandal
These were all shocking events, but something that fans really didn’t want to believe was that Thompson actually cheated on Khloé Kardashian, again, with her sister Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods.
Let’s revisit what happened. On February 17, 2019, when he was still with Kardashian and she had recently given birth to their daughter True, Thompson was spotted cozying up to Woods, who was Kylie Jenner’s BFF at the time. They were even caught entering a hotel together, and Woods was observed leaving early the next morning. It seemed pretty obvious what was going on.
Although Thompson, at first, denied the entire thing, his credibility was shot due to the fact that he’d already been caught cheating twice, on camera, while Kardashian was pregnant. As expected, Thompson later came clean to Kardashian and admitted that he’d cheated on her with Woods. This caused huge drama between Woods and the Kardashian family, unsurprisingly.
Fans didn’t want to believe that the drama was real
On the same Reddit thread mentioned above, a few other people said that for them, the craziest Kardashian family rumor that actually turned out to be true was this cheating scandal between Thompson and Woods.
One fan expressed their shock and disappointment that the rumor turned out to be true. “I knew Tristan was capable of some bulls**t (cheating right before Khloe gave birth), but I never would’ve thought Jordan would have anything to do w/ this,” someone commented, adding: “It came out of left field for me.
