Olivia Munn and John Mulaney Privately Welcomed Their 1st Baby
According to sources, Olivia Munn gave birth to her first baby with comedian John Mulaney. The new parents have not commented on the news but reportedly welcomed the new addition privately last month.
Sources claim Olivia Munn gave birth to a baby boy in November
As reported by Harper’s Bazaar via MSN, Munn gave birth to a baby boy on Nov. 24, 2021. The news originally came from sources who spoke to TMZ.
Notably, Munn kept much of her pregnancy private but gave a round of interviews related to her film, Violet, in early November. She gushed about Mulaney, spoke about pregnancy insecurities, and resisted the urge to fight false narratives regarding their relationship.
Some gossip blinds and fan theories suggested Munn already had the baby then, but those rumors quieted when photos emerged of her out and about, still appearing to be pregnant. That was seemingly only days before she would actually give birth.
Olivia Munn and John Mulaney relationship rundown
In May of 2021, Munn and Mulaney caused a bit of a publicity stir with their relationship reveal. News of Mulaney’s divorce was announced only days before People reported the new couple was “taking things slowly.”
By the end of May, DeuxMoi shared anonymous gossip submissions that suggested in uncertain terms that Munn was pregnant with Mulaney’s baby. In July, Mulaney reportedly filed for divorce from Anna Marie Tendler. And in September, he confirmed Munn’s pregnancy.
Notably, Mulaney went to rehab in December of 2020 and completed his stay in February of 2021. Some fans on social media shared worries that pursuing a new relationship so early in recovery could cause some concerns. However, Mulaney seemed to combat that chatter when he appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to announce the pregnancy.
“I got into this relationship that’s been really beautiful with someone incredible,” he told host and personal friend, Seth Meyers. He later added, “Olivia and this baby have helped save me from myself in this early journey out of recovery.”
John Mulaney is continuing ‘From Scratch’ tour in 2022
Following Mulaney’s stay in rehab, he announced his From Scratch tour would keep him on the road throughout the majority of 2021. In December, he added more dates and will be back on tour from March to July in 2022.
According to Paste magazine, From Scratch finds the comedian “uncomfortably vulnerable” and seemingly at a crossroads in his life and career. Their review of one of Mulaney’s previous shows notes how he acknowledged that public perception of him has shifted dramatically in the last year.
He seems to be trying to navigate a few big changes, which he incorporated into his material. For instance, he joked that the pregnancy announcement got “mixed reviews” and “everyone hates” the baby. In a Los Angeles Times interview, Munn revealed she found such jokes “healing” while she was on tour with Mulaney.
Now, fans will have to wait and see if Munn and the baby will be joining him on the road in 2022, and how his material will change after he’s been dad to a newborn.
