It seems that 2021 is the year of love because another celebrity relationship has just emerged. This time, it’s Olivia Munn and John Mulaney who are reportedly dating.
While their alleged romance comes as a surprise to most — especially since news of Mulaney’s divorce just broke — it turns out the two have been in each other’s lives for a while. In fact, a few months before their relationship made headlines, Munn sent Mulaney “so much love” on social media, which goes to show that their connection didn’t happen overnight.

On May 10, Page Six reported that the stand-up comedian and his wife, Anna Marie Tendler, had split after six years of marriage.
According to the outlet, Mulaney was the one who pulled the plug on their relationship, which Tendler is reportedly “heartbroken” over.
“I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage,” Tendler said in a statement via her spokesperson. “I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”
Though Mulaney’s rep confirmed the divorce, he doesn’t plan to comment on his and Tendler’s split any further as is focused on his recovery after spending 60 days in rehab for alcohol and drug abuse late last year.

Three days after news of his divorce from Tendler surfaced, Mulaney made headlines again for his reported romance with actor Olivia Munn.
According to People, the pair are dating but are easing into their relationship.
“This is very new, they’re taking it slowly,” a source tells the outlet. “They met at church in Los Angeles.”
Munn, who is best known for her roles in films such as The Predator and X-Men: Apocalypse, is no stranger to dating high-profile men.
Over the past several years, she’s had romances with A-listers such as NFL player Aaron Rodgers (who’s now engaged to actor Shailene Woodley) and Philadelphia Fusion President Tucker Roberts.
She’s also been linked to actors Chris Pine and Justin Timberlake.

Though it’s just been reported that Munn and Mulaney are dating, it turns out that they go way back.
In 2015, the actor told HuffPost Live that she and the Saturday Night Live comedian met years ago and that she was “obsessed” with him then.
“We were at a wedding together and I was like ‘Oh my gosh, do you and your fiancè want to go have dinner or something and go hang out?” she recalled. “At first it was cool, and then I kept going up to him at the wedding like ‘So you having fun? I was just so obsessed with hanging out with and talking with him.”
Later, Munn sent Mulaney an email but noted that “he never emailed back.”
“I might’ve got the wrong email — probably,” she added, laughing. “That’s what I tell myself.”
But their communication didn’t stop there.
After news broke that Mulaney had checked himself into a rehab facility in December 2020, Munn sent him an outpouring of love on Twitter.
“Sending SO MUCH love and support to John Mulaney. You got this,” she tweeted, alongside heart and lightning bolt emojis.
Though it’s unclear if the two were close at the time, it appears that their relationship has blossomed in recent months.
Who knows, this could be the beginning of a beautiful celebrity love story.
