Rodrigo took the stage at the Brit Awards on May 11 to perform “drivers license” live in front of an audience for the first time. The Disney+ star performed in a red dress while belting out the ballad. The only other performers with her on stage were a pianist and harpist.

In addition to performing, Rodrigo made her presence known at the award show in a unique way. She wrote letters to other artists who helped pave the way for pop music in the 2010s.

In pictures that popped up on Twitter, Rodrigo penned letters to other singers at the Brit Awards. She hand-wrote on the purple envelopes: “Hope ur ok.” She signed the letter with a heart and her name. A purple butterfly sealed the envelope shut, matching the imagery of Rodrigo’s Sour album cover.
Artists including Swift, Styles, and Little Mix were seen in photos with Rodrigo’s letter on their table. While none of the artists revealed what exactly Rodrigo’s letter included, it was surely a beautiful message given her songwriting capabilities.
